Watching this Grand Ol Opry live show right now on tv here in mid. TN is kinda weird. Brad Paisley, Marty Stuart and Vince Gill picking and singing tunes in front of an empty silent Opry House. Those three are excellent pickers for sure. Did a nice tribute to Kenny Rogers to open and Brad gave a shout out to all the staff at Vanderbilt hospital and all healthcare workers on the front lines in general.

Sorry ....didn’t see this.

Very very good of you sir. I sincerely applaud you and others who are willing and able to do the same. Don't know what type or types of businesses you have but am glad you are managing to keep people working WHO WANT AND NEED TO WORK!!!
I appreciate your kind words. Somewhere around 10% of my employees across the board have extenuating circumstances...ie...sick parents/gradparents...chemotherapy family members...other immune deficiency illness people living in their household.

I do not expect them to come to work. I am paying them 66% (I'm paying disability wages) for them to stay home.

I spent the day at one of my companies. Talking to employees. Did not want it, did not need it...but to a person was thanked for what I'm doing.

Back to the other posters point of me chasing a dollar...I guess I am...In the future...By having loyal employees...Because I took care of them when they needed it.

Was seriously just gonna leave this one alone, but decided to answer anyway. Talk about selfish? You had better hope your company doesn't find out how you feel. You are thinking of only you. Not those families that need to keep working.

I said my companies are open. I figured it would be a tldr post if I told all of the preventative steps we are taking. You're the one that just assumed I'm chasing dollars, when in fact I'm losing money doing what I'm doing. I'm taking care of my people as long as I can, because as soon as i shut them down, they will be making a fraction of what they are now...if anything.

Oh and by the way...every single one of my employees got an extra $500 in their check (actually a separate check) Friday. Across all businesses. Just to help with extra expenses while trying to stockpile or whatever they need it for.
But you as a business owner has all the money. You should send them home and pay them for 30-60 days. You're nothing but a greedy bastard.

I'm ready for someone to explain the ending of 2001 a space Odyssey to me. Go.

Just my guess, I think this 15-day tester window will end and they will renew equal, or tougher, policies. After the 2nd 15-day period we will tell businesses and employees to go back, but take great precaution to spread folks out. More shifts, restricted capacity allowed, etc. All large gatherings still not allowed.

I think they will focus on getting people back to work within ~1 month, but large gatherings, festivals, sporting events could be restricted many more months. Bonnaroo has already been pushed back 3 months from June to September. That is probably about the earliest huge gatherings will be allowed back, maybe a bit sooner.

What’s your definition of large gathering. Right now it is 10 plus per 15 day thing. CDC shows 250 plus still but that was what it was before trump said 10

We are facing the same dilemma. We employ over 220 people, and have been receiving some backlash over keeping our locations open amidst this pandemic. We don’t won’t our employees and their families to go without a paycheck, and the potential backlash of cutting jobs from closing. We have adjusted our store hours to allow cleaning and sanitizing and have provided budgets for everyone to our has necessary sanitizing items, gloves, masks, etc.
Our employees biggest fears are not making rent, paying their mortgage or car payment, not getting sick. We will remain open and do everything we can to keep our employees and customers safe, unless, we are made to shut down. Cheers to you for doing the same!

That is what we're trying to do also. Keep the safest working conditions possible, while keeping our employees paid.

I need some recommendations for either movies or tv series on prime or netflix. I swear I have went through everything on both and I have either watched it or the shows/movies do not catch my interest.
I think it was Huff or Newt who mentioned Counterpart, available on Prime (Starz show). Started it and almost finished the first season...excellent!

Annnd the same people bit**ing about this are also gonna be the the same people bit*thing about the looting and Rioting that's gonna probably happen.

Kudos to you for what you are doing. If more business owners followed your example our country would be much better off.

Tip of the hat to you and much respect, old geezer. I would come work for you any day and you probably have a workforce that would go to war for you.

A silver lining to covid:

Uga took a one year rental qb from a different offense and won’t have a lot of time to get him in tuned with the offense before the season starts.
There are no silver linings to Covid until the day we conquer it or beat it to the point that it’s existence will no longer bring countries to their knees.

I feel I do (however I could be wrong), but I'm a .marine at heart. I expect everyone to pull their weight. Me included.

I think most are trying to walk on the fine line of being understanding for businesses that are trying to look out for their employees, while trying to stay afloat, plus the bad PR, and those that think those businesses are only going for profit. I believe it’s a no win, either way.
