Testing for immunity would be more useful, especially for the high-risk folk, because those immune wouldn't actually be high risk. Even still, anyone immune or otherwise can still spread the virus through contact. At the time being we don't have enough of the essential items necessary to be responsible. But that's something that can be remedied.

I believe the confirmed cases are total from the beginning of documenting. That number includes recovered and deaths. Active cases are probably in the 170k range if the numbers you're referencing are from the Johns Hopkins tracker.

Vaccine's almost always take at least a year. The contagion has to run a few cycles to even start the process of developing it.

Best bet is containment and symptomatic treatment. 3D printing ventilators is going to be huge factor.

Where's your proof?

2) Do you also understand that if a virus with a transmission rate unchecked of over 2 was already here in January and we took no actions until March, then we would be getting daily numbers now that would dwarf our current total cases?

So what you are saying is just totally illogical and doesn't match anything happening in the real world.

Not at all. The American govt. was at fault for that. If this had happened under Clinton, W. Bush, or Obama, it would still be the case.

Do you not place “some” blame on the media for their sensationalism reporting during this? Both sides could be at fault.

We were comparing response to the virus not number of cases and deaths. Seems you were praising their response. So please elaborate on how great their response is and our failures.

I am not praising anything. I am stating in a country with similar capabilities as us, the mortality rate is not remotely alarming.

If this had happened under Barry or had Hillary been elected the media would barely be covering it and when they gave us the updates the message would be to stay calm and live normal.

We would be numbers that dwarf our current total cases? Really, how? How can you make that claim if we didn’t have the capacity to test for it? All your numbers are showing is our testing limitation.

For the record, I wish we could show real numbers here. There is absolutely nothing in the data that states the fatality rate isnt lower and our current confirmed cases are smaller than reality.

You are acting like every confirmed case is serious, every confirmed case requires hospitalization. That simply isn’t the case. Not by a long shot. Nobody under 30 has even died in Italy which makes it reasonable to assume the number of serious cases is small in comparison to everybody that really got it or has it. Hell, asymptomatic people and mild symptoms people aren’t being counted in any of you daily tracking numbers and we have no clue how much of the data set they make up.

Yeah....I’m beginning to wonder if this were the case then this would all be H1N1 or swine flu 2.0 in the media.

Death toll in Georgia is 3.5% through yesterday, and that is with limited testing. They've admitted their not testing everyone that has died because there are not enough tests right now.

The media and dem politicians know with the way the economy was going they were going to have a hard time beating him in November with O’Biden. So they are doing their part to bring on a recession and maybe worse over a glorified flu. What’s worse for some reason Trump now seems to be playing along so maybe he deserves to lose
