Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Also, getting back to normal and going places isn’t “being a tough guy”. So sick of hearing that.

It’s making a personal decision based on the data we are given. If I were at risk or could infect somebody at risk I wouldn’t be going out. If you are at risk and get it from a trip to the grocery store or going to a concert or putting yourself in harms way, it isn’t the fault of the person that gave it to you. It’s your fault.

Everybody should be responsible for themselves and allowed to take responsibility for their own actions. I would even pay for a grocery delivery for at risk folks, help out the elderly, be a good citizen....but I shouldn’t be blamed if I want to go out or ridiculed as stupid, or “tough”. Since when is it our responsibility to protect someone who wants to make a stupid decision?

These spring breakers everyone is making fun of are actually talking sense, even if it is by accident.

I had already joined up but when I was 19 the government was telling many of my friends to leave home, take up arms and go fight a foreign enemy. Do you know what? Every single one of them did it. They could have exercised their free will but they would have gone to jail. This inconvenience is really nothing.

Shut down most of the country for less than 300 deaths.

When are we going to star seeing the mass carnage?

At some point the overreacting is causing more damage than the virus.
the politicians, cdc and idiots in the media have people running to the ER for a runny nose and its probably being called a new coronavirus case

I think the fear is that this bug mutates a third time then goes dormant for a number of years. If what I'm reading between the lines is correct they want to develop a vaccine before it goes dormant. I think they fear the next wave more than this one. I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

It’s an election year.

Our current response wouldnt even be proper for 30,000 deaths.
Agreed. My town has zero China virus positives. Why should local guys shut down and get hurt?

This is stupid. Another few days of this BS and local businesses are going to give the middle finger to local and state governments.

I’ve been squawking loudly about this for a while now and expecting it to happen either at the state levels or at the federal level if states don’t successfully control the social contact that’s being mandated. It’s in the CDC and FEMA pandemic guidance and easily read online. It’s absolute total bull crap, but anybody actually surprised hasn’t been really hearing what has been said at all those briefings.
FEMA guidelines during emergencies are terrifying. I don't like being told by my hospital I have to stay during an emergency just in case I can't get back to work the next day. I've already told them when I clock out, I'm leaving unless you are paying me to sleep here, I'll see ya tomorrow. Oh the expressions.

One of those Spring breakers went to Florida with a bunch of college friends, brought the virus back to our small town, and they just shut down the college and evacuated the dorms. There is a Chick Fil-A on campus that is open to the public also. So, we will probably be getting some more cases soon.

I hope they do. I am finding it harder and harder to find places to eat. I want to sit in the place and eat and give a waiter or waitress some money. And help encourage people's psyche.

In Morse code.
Hey here's something totally nerdy. Do you know the Morse Code for the letter 'V'? I'll bet you do. What is the letter 'V' in Roman Numerals? C'mon... all you NFL guys help the other guys out... It's 5. Do you know how Beethoven's 5th symphony goes? If you don't... try Youtube....

I don't know if it was by design or coinkidink, but it is pretty cool...

How do they close a beach? Will you be arrested for sitting on it?
That's my guess, or they will assume they can scare you off. If they aren't able to, I'm sure they will be on a power trip and handcuff you. Hopefully, they won't shoot you.

I was off this week with my kids for Spring Break. Took them out to lunch every day. Went to local establishments.

I am not teaching them to be scared.

This will be the end affect. The economic damage done this time will discourage people from paying attention to a real health threat in the future.

Will be interesting to see what the serious symptoms and fatal cases numbers turn out to be. Would also like to see what the medical history and age is of anybody that dies and what their behavior was that could have facilitated them getting it.

Ok, What happens then? How many more people get destroyed without ever getting sick?
I don’t pretend to know the answers. I do think listening to our best scientists is a good plan. And I think it’s really smart when top CEO’s and scientists are on the same page.
