This morning the Port of Houston announced it was "closing indefinitely" due to a dock worker who tested positive for the virus.

This had me quite concerned, since a lot of the product I sell comes in by boat.

By the end of the day they released a statement that said worker was quarantined in hospital, investigation of his contacts had been completed, and operations will resume this evening.

I was in a restaurant today for the first time this week. The rest of the week has been non stop phone calls. It was damn heartbreaking seeing a empty dinning room and only two employees working.

At least the general public and the feds give a **** about them for the first time ever.

That’s where attenuating the rate of spread comes into play... though mainly motivated so our medical system can hopefully handle the surge, it will also help mitigate the impact on business and government.
