Coronavirus (No politics)

It's not even respect for its people- it is a culture of total selfishness. It is literally Chinese culture to lie, to push people out of the way, and to manipulate to move yourself ahead. There is little to no moral standard like most of the rest of the world has.

Don't believe me? Look at all the blatant IP theft the Chinese undertake; look at how their tourists behave; for those of you that harp on the US, look at China's climate impact.

I know; I was trying to avoid being too political.

I learned today that only 1 out of 100 children with a known exposure in Nashville tested positive. None locally, yet.
I guess everyone is really on equal ground with this virus since it's new and no one has built up immunity..hoping it will be same for all age groups...thanks for update

If you ever trust China, go back and read or reread history. Hard to respect a society or ruling society that doesn't have real respect for its own people - which may be exactly why we are where we are.

Wish Somebody had told Bush, Clinton, Bush 2 and Obama. Nevermind, they had to know, but it was too Lucrative for their Pockets.

That I’m not sure of. Drugs are made all over the world. And unfortunately most drugs that come into our borders are manufactured overseas. Even if a drug is manufactured in the states there is a good chance that some of the ingredients that are used to make the drug are from overseas

Goes back at least to Nixon, and I'm apparently one of the few who saw Nixon as a pretty good president, but I still give him the blame for starting relations with China..

You'll enjoy Botswana when you do get to go - that and Sabi Sands in S Africa were my favorites. The leftover antimalarial I have left is Malarone - bummer.

Yea, trip of a lifetime, not happening, but we were able to postpone out a year with the safari group and bush flights. Dealing with Air Botswana has not been easy. Then there’s good old Delta where i had to change once already cuz I was coming back thru Amsterdam then to DC. Got that changed, but now we have to change whole flight dates if we could get thru to Delta! Giving it 2 more weeks til flight coming up and then go from there.

I guess I could be having worse problems, so I’ll shut up now!

Civil emergency now declared in Memphis. All bars and local gyms closed. Restaurants to do takeout and delivery only. And churches being asked to cancel services and to stream only.

Hey Doc, my sister got tested here in Hamilton Co. I asked her if they also gave her flu test. She said no. Made me think of the following question.

If one tests positive for flu or strep (both immediate tests), could you safely write off Corona and not test for it?

Sure might help with the testing backlog.

If you are going to be in one place in Botswana (we were at Camp Xakanaxa in the Okavango Delta), the connections should be fairly easy. We flew a small charter to Maun, Botswana, and SA Airlink flight to Johannesburg, and back to Atlanta on Delta. That was the end of the trip; we stayed in a few more places before the last stop in Botswana. If there's a correct place to post this kind of info, I'd be more than happy to make suggestions or answer questions. One thing we did was spend the night in an airport hotel in Johannesburg; made the sixteen hr flight from Johannesburg to Atlanta a lot more bearable.

When I was tested I was told there was only a 2% chance one would have both the flu and Covid-19 and that is why they did the flu test first. If I had flu then there was statistically no need to do the Covid-19 test.

AM64, we’re doing same thing in JNB by staying the nite. Have a flight from JNB to Maun (Air Botswana) and then a bush flight to camp, staying in Okavango Delta also, the whole time. Machaba Safari group. Im extremely lucky that one in our group worked for many years with the safari camp, we got a very good deal and they worked with us to reschedule. My sister has been before and going again. Thank you for offer of help.
