A very well thought out article. I agree the numbers reliability is questionable at this point.

It still seems to me there's a disconnect somewhere. Where states and counties in the US are anticipating more patients than some countries have seen in 2 months.

One of the quickest ways to catch if the person has real research experience or is a media quack is one elemental piece of grammar. The word "data" is plural ... if somebody is writing "data is", he/she didn't come from a university science or engineering environment. Watch for it; it's a dead give away. It doesn't assure there isn't bias or questionable work, but it does mean the person likely spent enough time in the right environment and got his/her knuckles slapped enough times to get that right.

If you ever trust China, go back and read or reread history. Hard to respect a society or ruling society that doesn't have real respect for its own people - which may be exactly why we are where we are.

It's not even respect for its people- it is a culture of total selfishness. It is literally Chinese culture to lie, to push people out of the way, and to manipulate to move yourself ahead. There is little to no moral standard like most of the rest of the world has.

Don't believe me? Look at all the blatant IP theft the Chinese undertake; look at how their tourists behave; for those of you that harp on the US, look at China's climate impact.
