Maybe they should just isolate the elderly and sick. Ban them from attending all the bar/sporting events, not allowed to take care of the school kids, can't go to their part time jobs, no church for a few weeks. If you need help for groceries--call a number, etc. etc.

It's an interesting idea but won't happen because our President and candidates are old as dirt.

This also won't stop everyone else spreading the thing around, even if they don't have the strong symptoms.

actually many are saying he was forced to by the media reaction

so now we are in favor of big govt bailouts? Hard to keep it all straight since it changes with the wind

In days gone by the communities used to gather and pray for rain to end a drought. Guess what? It worked every time. Sometimes it took a couple of months but it eventually rained.

90k active cases in the world or 0.001% of the global population 93% of the 90k cases are mild...the virus is almost non existent in Southern Hemisphere and past it's peak in Asia...there should be preparations but shutting down everything is over the top imo

The media and limp wristed businesses incited panic. Ripple effect govt tries build in calm.

I doubt he wants to make some of these moves but has essentially been cornered by the results of mass hysteria.

And many of them do have homes. Most people don't work at nursing homes or assisted living facilities

Where did you get your MD/PhD, and where did you do your medical residency, postdoctoral research training, and fellowship in epidemiology?
How many peer-reviewed major research journals have you been published in?
How many vaccines have you created?
How many patents do you have?
How many unique laboratory protocols are you responsible for?
How many viral genomes have you sequenced?

I ask because those are the sorts of credentials the people have who think this is serious.

The people who don't think this is a big deal tend to believe in Q-Anon, Pizza-gate, and that Donald Trump tells the truth.

I did read an article that there were reports of permanent lung damage in those had recovered. Even that seems iffy though since it wildly varies in terms of how bad people actually get this disease.

I would assume lung damage in worse cases, but then again, who knows.
