That is not what I'm saying.
I'll type slower so that you'll understand (maybe).
You are bitching about how the government is running this schit show and on the other hand you want the government to run everything.
How does that work in your brain?
Redundancy and inefficiencies are hallmarks of government. This was probably just a few people with titles. There is NIH and CDC and who knows what else that are already under the HHS Dept Secretary, who is on the cabinet and directly report to the President.
The numbers suggest if the elderly and at risk population stayed home but everyone else carried on as normal we MIGHT have more symptomatic sick people but the death toll wouldn’t be much, if any, different than it is now.
I suspect at some point over the next couple of weeks that will be the guidance...at risk or elderly take extreme precaution, everyone else stay home IF you show symptoms but carry on as normal otherwise.
Trump keeps blaming Obama, and yet you cast your generalization on Dems.
Here’s a snippet from an interesting opinion article from an Italian doctor (supposedly)
Young and unafraid of the coronavirus? Good for you. Now stop killing people | Opinion
“But why the urgency, if most people survive?
Here's why: Fatality is the wrong yardstick. Catching the virus can mess up your life in many, many more ways than just straight-up killing you. "We are all young"—okay. "Even if we get the bug, we will survive"—fantastic. How about needing four months of physical therapy before you even feel human again. Or getting scar tissue in your lungs and having your activity level restricted for the rest of your life. Not to mention having every chance of catching another bug in hospital, while you're being treated or waiting to get checked with an immune system distracted even by the false alarm of an ordinary flu. No travel for leisure or business is worth this risk.
Now, odds are, you might catch coronavirus and might not even get symptoms. Great. Good for you. Very bad for everyone else, from your own grandparents to the random older person who got on the subway train a stop or two after you got off. You're fine, you're barely even sneezing or coughing, but you're walking around and you kill a couple of old ladies without even knowing it. Is that fair? You tell me.”
It's not Obama's fault either. Every President blames the President before them. I remember Bush getting blamed by the Obama admin and supporters. Politicians enjoy passing the buck. But the simple truth is, some things just happen. Could Trump have handled it better? Yes. Would that have curtailed this virus or stopped it? No. Politicizing this is ignorant.
And how about the young, healthy people you are out there interacting with that have to go home and take care of old people?I haven’t seen anything about extended physical therapy needed, or long term damage from surviving this. Maybe it’s true, but I’m still looking at real data sampling worldwide over what one or two doctors are saying. There has also been nothing from the CDC with regards to this narrative.
As for giving it to old people, like I said, they should absolutely self quarantine and take the more extreme measures.
Nothing wrong with discussing it here IMO. But not every thread needs to be about blaming Trump. Like I said, he could have handled it better, but blaming a global pandemic on him is a bit much. Nothing is going to stop this virus from spreading.Which begs the question, why is this subject in the PF? We all know the answer, and the chances of this not being politicized are about the same of this subject being moved to the Pub.
