10,000 cases with 80% of those with minor complaints?
It has grown to that many in a short time, it will continue to grow. There are only 160k ventilators in the US nationwide and only 45k ICU beds. You have to factor in medical personnel also falling ill. If it spreads too quickly the hospitals will be overloaded.

My wife and I both work in healthcare. If you're going to close all stadiums and arenas, then shouldn't you also close malls and walmarts?
It's about trying to control the speed of how quick it spreads. An Arena is going to have 20,000 people coming from all around the country for events like March Madness. If an infection does spread at that event like March Madness, now the disease is spread to so many more communities extremely quickly.

The virus is going to spread regardless but they are trying to slow down the speed that it moves. Walmarts are vital for groceries and normally only people from 10 miles around that Walmart will be there. Malls will probably temporarily close like they did in Italy today.

My biggest fear is our healthcare system not only being overcrowded but running out of supplies. I just hope we have enough domestic suppliers to keep our healthcare system going

Alright. My solution is to move the games and small crowds to local high schools. Figure out the three point line and camera crews and embrace how local basketball is. Highlight local high school stories, compress the space for audience, and make the story about basketball instead of Flu.2.

Y’all know this, but my dad has dementia. He needs 24/7 care. This past Friday I took him to the neurologist, and I had to fill out a health questionnaire for him. BUT no questionnaire for me. Nurse pointed out the same thing. Said it’s not accomplishing a ton to screen patients who are unable to bring themselves to appointments. The “check-the-box” mentality worries me most with this.
