2020 Primaries

Would you prefer that we arm them with guns, swords, knives, or forks to facilitate things? A debate/duel would be entertaining to say the least - maybe a real way to drain the swamp ... this legislative/judicial approach just isn't cutting it.

“I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.”

-Thomas Jefferson

This man shaped our constitution as much or more than any other. Was he wrong?
No and they developed a mechanism for such change.

Yet you can't express a well thought out debate about why the EC should be abolished, and what benefit that would provide the country after 230 years of successful, peaceful presidential nominations without once an overthrow of government.

I’ll refer you to my recent Thomas Jefferson quote.

So, smaller states are less important.?
Less populated states have a smaller population.
Really big land area states have more land.
Smaller land area states have less land.
Heavily populated states have a larger population.
States with a lot of lakes and rives have a lot of water sources.
States with tall mountains have areas of high elevation.

States are important for different reasons.
But hypothetically, if states randomly disappeared and reappeared, some would be missed much more than others during their absence.

Just like people.

Let's start with you. Think you'll be missed?

I'd counter with: that is why the EC is necessary since the Senate doesn't choose who is President.

The president doesn’t represent certain states, he represents each citizen equally. Hence, each citizen’s vote should count equally.

Do you think America wants to run a train on you?
Answer the question or admit that you're engaging in little more than whining politics, and you can't define what's actually "fair", for all of your demands that we do it for you.

You said that all votes counting equal is the very definition of "fair". You didn't actually make any argument to support it, but you claimed it. I asked if that example is an exception. If it is, then simply and lazily using "equal votes" as the picture of "fair" breaks down, and you'll have to actually do what you have refused to do... Make a logical argument as to why it's fair.

In other words, if gang rape is an exception to your grossly oversimplified picture of fairness, the responsibility is yours to show when mob rule is fair and when it's not, because we've agreed that it's not fair by definition.

As mentioned earlier, if you're unable to make the argument as to what is fair, and why we should agree, then we have to reference the common and existing definition of justice--the Constitution. It says that we are a Democratic Republic, using the Electoral College, so that small, heavily populated portions of the country don't run ramrod over larger, less populated portions of the country.

Without that EC, the US doesn't exist. It's a BIG deal to change it. Big enough that we'll need more than your personal credulity and hand waving.

So, get to convincing us, or kick rocks.

How was he cruel, lying or vindictive? He was standing in a group of blue collar workers who were spouting Fox and Trump blatant lies. Do you think they never heard a curse word before? Some of the greatest presidents cursed. I am not living in the 1800's.

Biden himself was on national tv saying how 150 million Americans have died to gun violence, does that qualify as a blatant lie or you gonna find some excuses for that? The dude is on video calling Iowa farmers fat and challenging him to push up contests, now he’s putting his frail old man finger an inch away from an American workers chest trying to act tough. He looks as stupid as he sounds.

The person with the most votes wins the election. Now, I’ll wait for your “logical” counterpoint.
I've already counter-pointed, and you joked it aside, proving that you don't actually want to have the conversation that you've been chiding us about.

This response indicates that you're incapable of having the conversation. Making bald statements with no logical support isn't making an argument. It's lazy and makes you look stupid after the sniveling you've done in pursuit of this very conversation.

I'm sure there are many Southern Democrats and Republicans who live in California/New York who feel like their vote doesn't count.

Biden is lost and a thin skinned punk. At some point when he puts his fragile old finger in someone's chest he's going to get f'ed up

Screw politics. Every American vote counting the same Is the issue. Period.
So start convincing us for the change. (Hint: A good start would be establishing a common source of justice to base your undefined concept of "fair" on. Lacking a rational and persuasive argument, all we have is the Constitution. What does it say is fair?"

There's some good stuff in there about hand washing and other Corona virus protections, too.

Much more than many, less than some.
Let's prove the point, then. When you leaving?

Just kidding.

Trying to insult me personally isn’t a stance, it’s a distraction from the fact that I’m right. I’ll say it slower for your, the person with the most votes winning an election isn’t a radical idea.

Exactly why their vote should count as much as the next person instead of being canceled out by imaginary lines.

I agree, he had the numbers wrong and most saw quickly he messed that up. Would you agree that Trump was cruel and vindictive when he made fun of a widow grieving her husband and said he was in hell? (because she voted for impeachment)

Nothing I can say will convince you to vote against Trump. Nothing you can say will ever make me like the guy.
