Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

This is not yet a pandemic. The flu killed 30k confirmed last year was that a pandemic? You are a freaking genius more cases coming in daily when testing is happening daily. Really stepping out on the long on that one. You weak minded dolts should learn to stop watching TV because when you do you believe the craziest of things.
1. Wash your hands often
2. Stop picking your nose
3. Go about your daily life.

The end
Left off one:

4. Pull your head out of your ass, it's not sanitary.

Still posturing I see. The adults you keep referring to are making points to arguments that are actually being had, unlike you who felt the need to create a strawman to knock it over.

You're not good at this, move on.

The board knows when you have lost an argument. You have 2 responses when this occurs.
1. Strawman reference
2. Tin foil hats

It is, by pretty much every definition a pandemic, with community spread across 3 different continents and almost daily new countries reporting cases.

You make a lot of stupid and uninformed comments, but this one takes the cake. You should move away from the USA. It's apparent you hate it here

No I hate chicken little the sky is falling cowards like you. So you are in the camp of rising death tolls as well? Anyone blaming the president for this virus is advocating that.

Not arguing semantics but it's not yet labeled a pandemic. Because CNN and MSNBC ate saying this does not make it true.

It is a pandemic. It is in almost every country and almost every state of our country. Every day there are more NEW cases than the day before. More NEW CASES than the number of NEW CASES from the day before. You really are not keeping up here. Exponential growth! Your brain may not be evolved enough to understand the concept.

So you're ignoring basic common sense because the WHO is refusing to declare this a pandemic? This outbreak has met pretty much every criteria to be labeled one. It might not be a deadly one in the long run but to refuse to call it one is insane.

This is a pandemic with more new cases every day and growing with community spread this virus is thriving with no vaccine anytime soon. I hope it’s subsided significantly by July but I fully expect it to still be a issue for everybody by then

If you’re waiting on the WHO to assign that pandemic label, don’t hold your breath. They announced weeks ago that they were no longer utilizing that labeling system. If they use it now, it’s become worse than bad.

A wee bit of research will show that this virus meets the set criteria for a pandemic.

You chicken little types are insane. But you do you. I'm going to work tomorrow and when one of my employees does something good I am going to shake their hand and tell them good job.

I'm not a chicken little and if you go through this thread I've simply been reporting news as it happens. I'm not going to radically change my daily life either but if you look up the word pandemic in any dictionary and then look at this virus than anyone with any amount of common sense and intelligence will conclude we are in a pandemic now.

If people are afraid to go on living because of whether or not someone labels or didn't label something pandemic they have bigger issues.
Humor me if this is labeled a pandemic in the next 5 minutes, what changes? I'm still going to go outside in this amazing weather we have today and go to work tomorrow and I come into contact with several hundred people daily. And if I start to have a fever or anything else like that I will go to the Dr. But guess what I did the same thing before Covid 19

You have been on top of this thing since day one and have reported only the truth which some people don’t like to hear

We are going to have to cancel the rest of the school year including universities and start making people work from home which is a problem for me but it would work for my wife.

Ok so say it's a pandemic. What does that change? Does this mean that washing your hands will be longer help? Can anxiety ridden safe spacers go back to eating their boogers and taking a pi$$ or a crap and go back to not washing their hands? What does labeling this a pandemic change?

Question for any of the doctors or medical professionals on the site, how important is the testing when there is no actual cure for the virus? Wouldn't you be limited to treating symptoms no matter what? What kind of treatment are we looking at? I assume fluids for hydration and blood panels to monitor vital organs. What else? And if you're a doctor and a patient shows up with symptoms of coronavirus, in the absence of a test, wouldn't you air on the side of caution? I can't help but wonder if people are blowing the test thing out of proportion. People with no symptoms, or with mild cases, probably aren't going to show up for testing. So that leaves the severe cases who are going to need medical help, which by that point, test or no test, wouldn't you still be limited to treating symptoms?

Without real-time statistics on the severity of the spread of the virus we will always be two steps behind. If there are 3x more actual cases in an area than have been reported then we will be too late allocating resources and implementing safety measures. We also won’t know the real virulence and mortality rates.

Let me be clear, there are people near death in hospital ICUs today (3/8/20) who have to wait 1-2 days for test results because the specimens have to be shipped to the CDC.

Labeling it a pandemic doesn't change anything but refusing to believe this is one is also ignorant.
