Gun control debate (merged)

When they try and take my right to vote away from me I’ll complain about it , like i do with my 2a being infringed upon . I don’t have a problem voting . Who do you know that does ?
You're a middle class white guy in the south ... they aren't suppressing your vote.

There is nothing in the Constitution that prevents this. And I have yet to hear a valid argument against it
It is an infringement of someone's constitutional right. No different than me asking for a background check before you can purchase one of your sacred guns.

The doc is a max of govt power not a min. Saying "it's not in there so govt can do it" means you view the doc from the wrong starting point
No, it is constitutional if the government decides to require ID to vote. All it takes is legislation and it would not be overturned by the courts bc there is no constitutional argument against it. Liberals don’t want it for obvious reasons

Sorry I'm in favor of a small Gov't limited by the actual constitution. I see you're the other type. Sorry, won't make that mistake again

Nothing in the constitution preventing states from requiring an ID to vote. It prevents the federal.gov.

Lol sure you are 😂but the fact remains it’s not that big a deal to show an ID to vote anymore than showing an ID to buy a firearm is

Then leave it to the states. That's not how most are presenting it. I would believe it would also get messy when addressing federal elections

It has been left to the states. No federal law requiring an ID has been proposed that I know.

..it amazes me how selective you gun grabbers are with our constitutional rights . You pick and choose what you believe should and shouldn’t be rational and reasonable based on selective ideology, even going so far as ignoring the actual wording of the specific rights . They are all right given to us in the constitution but only one expressly states that it “ shall not be infringed upon “ . This is the one you choose to make your stand on about rational and reasonable , then say the voting rights can’t be argued the same way because it would be an infringement. Smh .

"not that big a deal" is relative and a horrible way to be governed. Let's tack on "unless it's not that big a deal" to the 4th. Make sense?
