I was looking at our 2020 schedule and comparing national rankings for 2019 performance, 2020 returning production, and the composite rankings for the 2019 rosters and 2020 recruiting class. Our offense still sucks and of course that has everything to do with the fact that we play against some of the best defenses in the country every year. It’ll be interesting to see if we improve this year on that side of the ball and by how much. I think we probably win 7 regular season games without any offensive improvement but could possibly compete for 3 additional regular season wins if we’re not hamstrung again by our offense. I think both SC and UK will be interesting games. SC is on the road and Boom is on the hot seat. UK hasn't won in Neyland since Moses crossed the Red Sea. I think OU can probably reload on offense; MO probably doesn't have a prayer. jmo.
I wanted to go ahead and get this post out of the way because from here on out and starting with the beginning of spring practice next week it’s likely that most of my posts going forward regarding our 2020 season will be in support of the how and why we actually end up 15-0. TIFWIW.
The most impressive thing to me about our 2019 team is once we turned it around we were able to win a number of low scoring games. Aside from the heroics of the defense I think that also speaks to the character of the team that Pruitt is building. Having said that, we need to figure out a way to score some dat gum points on offense. jmo.
