Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

here's what you need to know about Mike Leach

he is 100% intolerant of players who do not execute and give all out effort

no coach does more with less

he teams always have swagger and fear nobody

Sorry it stated a couple of weeks in the e-mail but from hearing him talk he seems to think that he might have who HE wants...I really do not know but one thing and that I want this to be someone with fire and can bring in a team of good coordinators

Actually it said "several"

In 2000 Kentucky was #2 nationally in passing offense and 11th in total offense.

they were 2-9.

but who cares as long as we score, right?

Talk to Mumme about it, It's his fault he didn't hire a D-Cord...That wasn't Leach's problem :clapping:

It just amazes me that people actually want this guy...

If he wasn't 9-0 right now, his name wouldn't even be mentioned. he loses 3+ games every year...

Ok then, Tell Us who YOU want?...Besides the unreachable like Gruden or Cowher?...Who do You think will do a better job than Leach?

My brother lives in Amarillo, Tx and he was listening to a local am radio sports show. they interviewed Mike Leach, and asked him about the Tennessee job opening, and he said he was not interested. Take it for what it is worth. It could just be a Saban response????

Why are people on here pumped up over coaches who for the first time in their career have their teams winning or ranked?. Heck Fulmer had winning seasons, we need to examine the new HC body of work over several seasons and get a coach with a more proven track record. We do not need some Johnny come lately coach we need a proven coach who will be a step up for our program. And as far as people getting excited over Lane Kiffin "give me a friggin break" the only thing he is proven at is failure and skating by on his dad's coat tails! His lil stint in the NFL will not impress recruits with the losing record he had.

Agreed. And why would anyone throw out what someone did at Kentucky. Boy, that would sure make me want to put them in charge at UT.

I wouldn't want to try to put his air show in the SEC either...in the Big 12 his QB's average 400 yards a game, in the SEC his QB's would average 400 Interceptions a year.*

*Very minimal exaggeration

??? He's 9-0 right now and he just beat #1 Texas. Wake up. This is 2008. No disrespect at all, but he's what most would consider "doing more, with less."

He put on a hell of an air show when he was oc of Kentucky...His offenses were #1 in the conference in total offense and 11th nationally....That offense WILL work in the SEC as has been proven.

Unreachable and Gruden should not be in the same sentence.

Justin, We are not getting Gruden...It's all over the radio stations in the Tampa Bay area...He's not interested...In fact they are laughing at us for even considering him...He's got it made in Tampa...I mean don't get me wrong I would walk 3 miles through shredded glass and do a back flip ion a pool of alcohol if he would come to UT, But I just do not see it happening...He's not going to walk out on this awesome team he has here for UT...If He does then You can tell me in front of everybody I was wrong....But I'm not too worried about that happening ;-)

Very interesting read at the top of this LINK.

Especially the part about not being allowed to drive.

Leach has also won at least 8 games a year since he's been at Texas Tech. Had you heard of Texas Tech before he got there?

well Foster could run in their O, with two heisman canidates with them anyone could run when the D allways has 6 DB's on the field

when you force a defense to change their scheme i find that a good thing in your offense.

he is only making 1.7 mil and its sh*t hole lubbock where there is nothing but the smell of manure and dirt as far as the eye can see. IMO u must be crazy to not have him high on the list of canidates.

leach notables:

9 consecutive winning seasons
8 consecutive bowl appearances
7 consecutive seasons with at least 8 wins
4 nine-win seasons
5 bowl wins (most by any individual coach in the history of the program)
More than 150 NCAA, Big 12 and school records broken

Very good post! For those who say that style of offense will not work in the SEC obviously have NOT seen Florida play.
