Is the Texas Tech offense actually a spread? Or just a major pass happy offense? What makes an offense a spread - other than having 4-5 receivers on the field half the time.
The Texas Tech offense is nothing more than an offense based on throwing 60+ times a game. It's meant to over hype QB's until they go into the combine and drop like a rock and eventually move on to selling real estate or fast food. Other than Crabtree Leach has proven nothing on the recruiting front. With the speed of SEC defenses his system would be awful.

I like some of Hat's selections and the logic behind eliminating the Gruden's and Cowher's and Butch Davis. I am the most intriqued with Steve Sarkisian. He is young, runs a pro style offense, coaches QB's and is hungry for a HC position. No one can discredit the success the USC Trojans have accomplished over the past 3 years. They have played in numerous big games during the regular season and score alot of points and play decent defense. The challenge of the SEC could be the deciding factor to obtain him and he has expressed interest in the Washington HC job.

I'm not convinced about these USC assistants that are the hot commodity seemingly every year. They have teams with superior talent in a weak conference that plays no defense, so their numbers are going to look good. I feel the same way about Lane Kiffin.
