The Impeachment Thread

Remember that when the next Dem president is impeached over policy dispute
If the next dem president were to be as horrendously despicable as Trump, I would hope and pray the repubs impeach and that it was rightfully bi-partisan.
But luckily, we will not have a president as horrendously despicable as Trump for another couple hundred of years.

For at least 5 more years. And you will enjoy WINNING BIGLY.

Those comments were made in defense of what the left saw as a political impeachment. Period . Nice try .
We all agree that impeachment should never be political. Nor, should the defense against impeachment be purely political, yet that's exactly what we have.

Yes so why then do any of the ones that said that it was just based on pure partisan hatred for the clintons ( Maxiene waters ) , impeachment should never happen without both sides agreeing or it cheapens our democracy ( Nadler ) but now it’s different , now it’s protecting the constitution , Have any credit whatsoever ?

Your last president was as despicable as Trump, but you never noticed because he was your kind of despicable. And, please, get it right; we're "deplorables" not "despicables". By the way if case you missed it, forgot, or had political amnesia, locking committee doors during the preparation of Obamacare with republicans on the outside was pretty much the classic definition of non-bipartisan. Offering a couple of RINOs or other post turtles some special benefits was also pretty much the definition of bribes for a vote ... I think that would be a quid pro quo.

Now perhaps you can suggest how we might go after high crimes and misdemeanors in congress. They seem to have a way of going after the executive branch, but to turn the tables apparently is an impeachable offense known as "abuse of power". That seems off since we supposedly have three equal branches ... some are more equal???

Obviously everyone has switched positions from the Clinton impeachment (McConnell. Graham, Dershowitz, etc....)
Pretty much everyone has sacrificed credibility. It is ugly, it is sad, and it will only continue to widen the divide.
But that's the inevitability of Trumpism. This always travels full circle in my mind, what in the hell were Trump supporters thinking?
Remember the most important fact of all.......
Trump is not the norm, and for the sake of our country's future, must never be normalized.

But as we all know, bipartisan support is only possible when the members from the President's party are willing to do the right thing. When that's not the case, bipartisan support becomes virtually impossible and therefor moot.
There was bipartisan support in the House against impeachment, there will be bipartisan support in the Senate against removal. Only one side has been partisan in this sham

So which house republicans supported impeachment? You may wish to re-think your post.

In your mind you said everyone , in reality you only mentioned Republicans by name . It’s exactly the way you try to blame this on Trump instead of on the actual leaders of the party that controls the house now . The very ones that stood up for Clinton when they believed his impeachment was just political politics , and are the ones doing the thing they condemned . You can’t listen to Maxiene , Nadler and Pelosi saying the only reason for impeachment is hatred of the Clinton’s , and now blame Trump for the Dems hating him . Nope that dog don’t hunt and you know it .

You have trouble reading. There were a couple of dems in the House who voted against impeachment, there will be at least 1 dem in the Senate who will vote against removal. That’s bipartisan support. The pro impeachment and pro removal is completely partisan by the radical left wing party formerly known as the democrat party

I only mentioned republicans (and Dershowtiz) because you only mentioned democrats.
Sure I can blame Trump for the Dems hating him. There will always be some level of "hatred" from the right for any Dem. president. There will always be some level of "hatred" from the left for any repub. president. It has always been that way and will always be that way; that is "NORMAL" political crap. Trumpism was designed to accentuate and play on that ugly fact for political gain but at a horrible cost to the country as a whole. It was a calculated strategy. That's the Bannon/Stone/Manafort (talk about your swamp creatures) playbook. He won by doing all within his power to divide. That strategy (much like elections) has consequences.

Were you dropped on your head as a baby?
How many republicans in the house crossed the party line with their vote?
How many republican senators will cross the party line with their vote?
Which party is the only party voting in a "bi-partisan" way?

There is bipartisan support against impeachment and removal. At least there are a hand full of sane democrats left

I only pointed out what the Dem leaders were saying because they ( like you are now about hate ) we’re saying it was just political and hatred that led to Clinton’s impeachment, and then did the same thing . So there’s no high ground here , there’s no saying now it’s not and it’s just “ about saving democracy “. Be fair and call it what it is . A pure political stunt fueled by hatred of Trump .

While Republicans have not committed to doing so, they have countered that a new round of testimony could give them the opportunity to call their own witnesses -- like Hunter Biden.

You democrats want Bolton to testify? Ok, fine. We Republicans will counter with Hunter Biden to testify.😂😂😂
