Brightridge is deploying same soon.Gotcha, we've had Gpon installed with a 1 GPS for a few months now. Not had a hiccup yet. Our other option was DSL at 10 Mbps that would cut in and out because CenturyLink sucks basically. 79 bucks for a Gig not bad. They're selling the Gpon as fiber to the home but I'm guessing it switches once it enters.
Edit: only hiccup is I need a better router.

Not sure if Gpon or Epon. Muni fiber is typically good. However, seems like they can over tax their network.
Issues munis have is once those federal grants to run are gone, they beg Peter and Paul to pay Mary. Running a corvette with a weedeater engine.
ATT is the cash cow. If you're on ATT fiber, theyve likely invested into their newtork.
Next up is Clink +.
Cell has had real issues.Yeah I'm on Holston. I'm looking for Brightridge to try and upsell their 5G plan. I don't see how any wired system will be profitable in the future eventually with the cellular technology improving speeds like they are.
Unfortunately my location is not part of their plan. I use brightridge for electricity, but unable for internet. I'm stuck with century link.Brightridge is deploying same soon.
