This offense isn’t built around Bowden it’s built around post players which we don’t have.bowden is a Rhythm shooter in a uptempo offense you would see a huge difference in this teams shooting percentage if Barnes adjusted his offense.

You keep banging this drum, and we’ve missed open shots time and time and time again. It’s mostly the roster than anything that can be done, and most knew it would be a step back.

I did expect a step back but maybe not this big. Maybe I was expecting too much from Barnes to be able to mold this team into more than was there. We are really in a pinch that we are guard oriented with guards that can't shoot, can't penetrate, and can't distribute the ball to players in a good position to score.

Looking forward to next season, already. 😂

The loss of Turner changed any expectation of a “decent” year. We had to have Turner and Bowden average 25+ a game and then let the young guys develop.

I’m on record with my text buddies as being a Barnes nega. I think he’s a great man, develops players well and has flashes of recruiting prowess. But, he sucks in the tournament when it matters most. Barely .500 in 20 years with 1 final 4 appearance. That team last year was a final 4 team and could’ve won the whole thing. For some reason, he has not been able to get it done. And now, we’re seeing the lack of recruiting in 2017,2018.

If things don’t turn around, I think Barnes will have a little heat on him going into next season. He didn’t do himself any favors with that UCLA stunt. I almost wish they would have let him go and hired Casey Alexander. He was probably going to be the guy had Barnes left.

He’s good, not great. Definitely not worth the money he’s being paid IMO. I don’t trust him in March at all. His last two teams not counting this one underachieved.

You’re wrong, and he didn’t pull a stunt. Better job & better money came after him. Still amazed he was willing to give UT the chance to counter.

You can't have it both ways. Barnes took a rag tag bunch of players nobody wanted and took them a game shy of the final four. He then lost four of his starting five. And counting Lamonte this year 5 of his top six. I understand the frustration. I'm frustrated too. But it's extremely difficult to have that attrition and bounce back. Some programs do it but their names are KY, Duke, NC, and Kansas that are replacing 5* lottery picks with 5* lottery picks.

I do think Barnes lost some fan equity with flirting with UCLA. He handled the aftermath poorly as well. I think it was smart to pony up and keep him. How bad would it have been without JJ? Also, no way we would have the class coming in that we do.

My expectation is for this team to make significant improvement as the season progresses.

Get out of here with that. UCLA isn’t a great job. It’s not that he was interested, it’s mainly what he did after the fact when he came right out and said he would have left Tennessee if UCLA would have covered the buyout. That didn’t sit well with a couple of people that you want to be sitting well with.
