Ha. I love a good conspiracy theory. I just prefer the ones that don't throw out awesome human achievements that are so easily verifiable.
There has been a lot written on the matter, and what some with knowledge of the subject have said is that it would have been easier to go there than to fake a film of it with 1960s technology. There are also the thousands who worked on the project, the thousands who witnessed the launches. There are the dozen that walked on the moon and the others that orbited.
And there's also the little USSR problem. The US was racing the Soviet Union at the time. To think the Soviets would have kept silent about a fake landing is absurd. They had the technology and telemetry capability to verify the journey. They would have loved to embarrass the US by catching them in a fake.
And, yes, dangerous from the standpoint that too many people are easily swayed by the tiniest "evidence" despite the overwhelming amount in the other direction. This problem is seen all over the place today.
Question things. Question lots of things, but don't give in to the crap conspiracies. At least save yourself for the good ones.
