He wasn't the head coach there...Just the OC and he did his job pretty damn well if you ask me...I know you think he is overrated and that's your opinion but I think he is a hell of a head coach who has done remarkable things at two schools who have pretty much zero history...I think he lights it up at MSU.he will do the same he did at kentucky...set tons of "records" with meaningless yards and meaningless points and go .500 while giving up 40-50 points a game
They can have him. He is a good coach. But I am 100% satisfied with Pruitt and the way this team is playing for him. Good times are ahead in Knoxville.
For some reason I think you've been oversold on the Kiffin mystiqueHe has a .600 winning pct all while coaching in 2 of the weakest defensive conferences and he's a very mediocre recruiter. His teams are soft physically and his liberal style will not fit well down in MS. I just don't see this as a very good hire and I believe Kiffin will dominate him in recruiting the state. I expect them to finish dead last in the West next season.
He's versatile in scheme offensively based on QB's strengths. Uses backs as receivers etc......The last season with Grinch as DC,(2017 ?), WSU had 11 wins at least and that's with 3* star recruits and former walk-on QB. I'm sure he'll get good QB's at MSU. Defense is another story. If success is 7-5, occasional 9-3 type seasons and some exciting, fun football, yes. If success is winning the SEC or more, no.
I think he’ll keep things interesting and fun, but I don’t think he’ll win titles there. However, he may have that random season where things click and he’ll have them in contention. I can say this, he’ll have QBs and WRs lining up to play for him.
He’s never been a great recruiter or had very good defenses. I think he is a entertaining coach and I like his offensive scheme. If nothing else his pressers should be very fun to watch.
Mike Price had a better run at Washington St, and this record is mediocre at bestHe wasn't the head coach there...Just the OC and he did his job pretty damn well if you ask me...I know you think he is overrated and that's your opinion but I think he is a hell of a head coach who has done remarkable things at two schools who have pretty much zero history...I think he lights it up at MSU.
How dare you use actual evidence to back your claims. Shame, shame. You might hurt someone's feelings on the board.Mike Price had a better run at Washington St, and this record is mediocre at best
he had 1 miracle year at Texas Tech when a hail mary beat Texas and he STILL didn't win any titles, and he had one decent year at Washington St where he played a soft schedule and STILL couldnt win the division because he was 1-6 alltime vs his rival...

I don’t get it. This is like the argument that Mullin wasn’t a good coach since he never won the sec west. For gosh sakes he was at Mississippi state. Not LSU, Auburn, bama, or even ole miss. It was Mississippi mistake. Leach won’t match Mullin’s success, but it is a great hire for them. He will win enough and upset some teams. Hope it’s not the Vols.Mike Price had a better run at Washington St, and this record is mediocre at best
