yeah, i mean once he confirmed he signed during that Marietta game, my gut said he signed with UGA. and pretty much checked out, save the fodder in that thread.

he's not coming here. lol.

and frankly, i'm just kinda sick of hearing about UGA. yeah, they got all those 5*'s but i'm not convinced they're managing personalities the right way down there, and ultimately, the culture isn't as solid as you'd think.

i freely admit that's what i hope and want to happen, and that may be influencing my opinion here.
:)
The day after Frank brought out the ban hammer in that thread while waiting in line at the movies was the last time I looked in the DW thread. haha. I think there's 300 more pages since last time I opened it.

Lol @ the Giants hire. Lord knows those patriots WRs were incredible this year.

NFL hires almost never make sense to me. they either hire a retread of a coach that has been fired at least once if not twice, or they hire some nobody like this. Why not go after top coaches in college more often, or more top coordinators? I mean heck, I'd hire Joe Brady as head coach before this guy.

If Tua is there at 7 i am taking him 100000%but i would hold on to cam tho. He’s actually on a very good QB deal right now and he’s had a full season to heal and rehab. Ruhles offense should help him with easy throws and getting the ball out quickly.

Bienemy is a weird case especially when think of how successful Doug has been in philly off the Andy Reid tree. He’s been really close to getting hired at a few spots but for whatever reason no one has pulled the trigger. May not interview well or have a personality Teams want.
im in the camp that says we should keep cam and finally give him what he needs.

but he's got to prove to be healthy, and after basically a year and a half off, he really should be.

it brings all kinds of htings to the table....and that may be the worst thing for a brand new owner and a GM that has a sketchy history...the panthers are gonna have options. take the qb at 7 if he's there? trade back and add picks? take best available, best OT/DB or add a weapon for cam? trade cam and add picks? Pick tua and have him understudy for a year, ensure his health, then trade Cam after next year?

lots of options. this off season is gonna be nutty here.

The parallels with Richt are so fascinating. They reeled in 5 stars before, and they will again. They're the in-state school for greater Atlanta, which is one of the most stacked recruiting grounds in the country. Like Florida, it's basically malfeasance if they don't reel in a top 10 class every year. It's interesting to see what they've done since they've run out of players that Richt and Pruitt recruited.

We beat them before. We'll beat them again. Yet, they'll always have the video clip of Walker and Bates to fall back on.
What if being the in-state school for a huge recruiting hot bed isn't the best situation unless you are elite at talent evaluation and telling the truth and risking offending players that everyone wants but don't fit your system?

In my head, this is a plausible explanation for UGA. Winning at a high level is hard everywhere.

Literally just edited my post to include that. This is exactly what I was thinking when they called.
The only "currency" I can think that would have mad someone rich recently is crypto. Sad, but man it sounds like those poor folks may have been taken to the ringer.

Do you deal with wealth management at your firm, audit, or mainly taxes?

I get the rehiring of some head coaches depending on how their first stint went. Guys like Andy Reid or Mike McCarthy who had a ton of success but just kinda went stale.

But I’m with you on it tho. Not to pull the race card Bc it’s not all about black or minority coaches but i think just in general NFL owners specifically are scared to take chances whether that be with personality, ethnicity, or schematics. So they would rather just hire someone they have seen in charge and on a sideline before.

Yea it will be really interesting for sure. The good thing is you have one young super star at RB and a damn good Young DJ Moore at WR. So i would say if Herbert or TUA isn’t at 7 then trade.

I’m kind of in the camp where i would trade our of the top 10 every year unless i was in the market for a QB was drafting one.

Um.... I have been sick the last few days and haven't been paying attention, but ... Who? For what team? Seriously?
Giants just hired him for HC. He was also mentioned for Mississippi St job. The Giants were even talking to Jason Garrett allegedly. So I know one thing... the Giants are terrible at coaching hires

Lol, not just coaching hires... drafting, free agency, ... what else can I think of?

Apparently the Giants have requested permission from the cowboys to interview Garrett for the OC position. Not HC.

I get what you’re saying. It’s strange to me that there aren’t more black coaches. I do not think it has anything to do with racism btw, but it is surprising there aren’t more in coaching.
