Over the years when we look at what School has "sent" the most players to the NFL it isn't a SEC school, the top five are OK, Michigan, OH State, USC, and #1Notre Dame-I believe it is due in a large part to recruiting. Of course, great coaching, facilities etc. are top factors, but some schools, Notre Dame being the best example, have a very effective "scouting" side to their recruiting efforts. Just like you need to "bring along" a freshman player, we need to be bringing along our scouting/recruiting program. The best football players in the US are not given "special football powers" because of the state their family lives in. A GREAT player such as Joe Burrow, had to fight for a chance to play, in part due to where he was from. I'm sure coach O in LSU feels like a genius for giving Joe Burrow the nod. If we study how Notre Dame does it, maybe we could learn from their success.
