To Protect and to Serve II

Innocent until proven guilty...

It really says a lot when you see nothing wrong with police, who swore to uphold the Constitution, to engage in thuggery on civilians.
You really do have a reading comprehension problem. Me surviving a bad situation and telling others to do the same so they can take it up with lawyers clearly means I “see nothing wrong”
Again there’s a big difference in discussion on how things should be and how they are.

I clearly understand the distinction between how things should be and how they are.

Let's strive to make the situation how it should be, not resign ourselves to the idea that cops are going to beat the life out of you and not uphold their oath.

Ever thought about being a cop, Ras?

Be the change you want to see in the world.

And let’s not pretend that your behavior doesn’t change the results during the time you struggle for change

Maybe it should. Get off the bench, get in the game, then offer your perspective.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

I already have my career. This isn't about me anyways. Its about the cops. Stop deflecting where the blame and the responsibility should actually go to. Change has to come from the inside. If they see no need or desire to change themselves, it will matter very little what one individual does.

Example...
How I Survived for 3 Years as a Libertarian Cop

One night I was called into the Lieutenant’s office. I had no idea why. I had a good reputation and kept to myself. When I asked the Lieutenant what he needed he said he wanted to talk to me about the amount of tickets (speeding and other moving infractions) I had been giving out. I told him I had never given out a ticket but gave plenty of warnings (warnings were not logged in and went into the trash). He asked me why I hadn’t given out any tickets. I told him I was an arrest guy. Quality arrests were my specialty. He said that was no answer.

I then told the Lieutenant that I didn’t even know how to fill out a ticket properly. In fact in my 20 year career I had never written a speeding ticket. He didn’t care about all of my arrests and my quality of work. He wanted revenue. He immediately changed my shift to the day tour and assigned a Sergeant to watch over me. I didn’t stay long after that. I never wrote a ticket. I never made a drug arrest. I honorably resigned.

An incidental anecdote does not reflect anything except the incident it is relating.

No one said it was about you, however, you feel free to criticize everything law enforcement related and have done nothing to find out what it's like to do the job or change those things about it that you don't like. If I were to use your posting example as an anecdote, I would conclude that you are a whiner with no inclination to effect the change you apparently want other than to post on a fan based message board. Whoopeedoo.

Be the change you want to see in the world and Merry Christmas to you.

What the hell are you talking about? This is a sports messageboard... yet I'm sure 95% of the people here have never coached a football or basketball game in their lives, yet they are free to comment and have their takes.

Again, this isn't about me. This is about the cops... and to a greater extent the lawmakers, judges and sheeple that empower them to be highwaymen, revenuers and thugs.

Merry Christmas

Lol. Lets flesh this bs story out. Ok, so he never wrote a ticket for a moving violation... cool, stupid, but whatever. Never made a dope arrest and he’s all about the “quality” arrest. Pray tell how one makes a quality arrest of offenders without one, just one, having a sack of heroin in their pocket? This guy was a 20 year do nothing who should’ve been booted in probation. If this is what you see as an honorable cop then I hope to never live in your world.

Are you really that dense? There probably were people he arrested that had dope on them, but his purpose for arresting whoever did not revolve around drugs/contraband.

And lol at you mad at him for not writing tix.

He was essentially the exact same thing you seem to vilify on here. He was jury and judge as well. As a matter of fact, he was worse because he set out to ignore the parts of the law he 'felt' were wrong. He was the worst kind of LEO.

You could literally apply your response to any concern one might have about anybody in government. This is useless. We don't have to become public servants ourselves to have an opinion about how public servants should behave. They signed up to do what's in the interest of the public and they take our $ to do it. Forgive us for expecting them to hold up their end of the bargain.

I couldn’t help but wondering the same thing when I read it. I guess when he caught someone committing a violent crime or felony property theft he just asked them to dump the dope in the ditch and told them he wouldn’t charge them for possession. ...... or maybe he just took their blow for himself🤔
