Would you agree there is a speed difference between high school and college?so do multi-yr guys...in the same system. he used maurer being in a new system. well, so is JG. then it was said "well shucks, a 4th yr guy should be able to just play with a new OC every year". ITS THE SAME EXACT THING!
It has nothing to do with thier guy or my guy....as long as JG is at QB we are limited. Do we have a better option? When healthy i believe yes...since the "eye test" doesnt prove it BM stats vs top 25 as well as better accuracy in a shorter field shows he could be a better option but doesnt have enough chances...ive never seen fans want their own guy to be so wrong that they will literally ignore the facts sitting right in front of their face like a few fans have done with JG.
i mean i get it. they year started off terrible for him. he f'd up the bama game. i was just as pissed as anyone else over that. but you gotta move on!
get over it honey!
JG throws one of the best jump balls ive seen.He has been instructed to do that. The receivers are told to “high point” the ball. That means catch it as soon as it pokes through the 10 ft altitude plane. The receiver’s job is to be at that spot and poke their hands through the plane to be the only person who can catch it.
In stride gives the ball to the safety. Because the safety’s job is to high point the ball. If our receiver is trying to catch it in stride, and their safety has the speed and range to high point it, a turnover happens. See Deon Grant.
Pruitt hammered on this last year.

If you agree to that then common sense would tell you a freshman will struggle more often then RSJr...
are you doing stand-up? miss st i guess he didnt have chances. ky, i guess he didnt have chances. It has nothing to do with thier guy or my guy....as long as JG is at QB we are limited. The td to calloway in mizzouri. Do you think it was a accurate pass or was it thrown short causing a semi jump ball situation?
Stats don’t lie. Clausen played some of the biggest games of modern era at UT and won most of them he was 6 yds away from having 6 TDs vs Michigan. He single handledly willed them to beat Bama. He’s much better than anyone not named ManningClausen seems a little too high as does Bray. I might put Shuler or Dobbs ahead of maybe one of them. Tony R was very talented but his career was cut short. Kelly not the most talented but he sure did win a lot.
are you doing stand-up? miss st i guess he didnt have chances. ky, i guess he didnt have chances.
stop it. he played terrible those games and JG came in to save the day.
you wanna know which qb didnt get "enough chances": JT Shrout
Because that's normal. It's called a straw man argument. QB accuracy drops off the closer you get to goal line because it's so much easier to defend the more compact the field is. This is nothing special. It's a situation where someone finds a stat that means nothing and makes a big deal about it completely out of context. A few months ago there was an article by a 'reputable' news outlet. The article stated rifles are more powerful than pistols. It got quite a few people up in arms because they had no idea this was true.... I'm being dead serious here. This is the same type of information you just dropped. When DB's have less feild to cover and Wars have less route options it's easier to defend them. DohThose articles are relevant to the impaxt that BM had aftet the florida game. SO you want people to find an article about an injured true freshman from a source you deened reputable. While said freshman wasnt playing?
We will find that article when u find one stating JG is a top tier SEC QB and one of the top QBs in the NFL draft....
We both wont find it cuz they dont exsit...why not answer my question about why his accuracy suffered so much from the opponents 39 yard line and in????
...and being at the bottom of the SEC in rushing doesn’t help in the red zone either.Because that's normal. It's called a straw man argument. No response to that one huh @lexkyvol ?I really can’t answer that question. I just rewatched the game AGAIN and still only count 2 bad passes early. The rest were dropped. You can blame Maurer all you want for that game but here’s the truth...... deny away because I know you will. This was his worst game by far but DEFENSE was the problem. Not himView attachment 248289
i guess pruitt is biased as well? wait, bowl game, new years, second year. this must be 1vol8's burner accountSo wait. Going 6/12 for 101 yards and 18rushing in the 2nd quarter against KY isnt good enough to start the 2nd half
But 3/11 for 26 yards and 10 yards rushing against Vandy in 1 half is allowed ????
Your either to thick to see the obvious bias or your arguing to argue. Either way we at least agree on shrout.
cant keep responding to obvious situations. pruitt removed him, we won. said we would've lost had it not been for the guy that replaced him. but im sure u know more than pruittNo response to that one huh @lexkyvol ?
I’m sure that clock showing you we only had the ball for 8 and a half mins in the first half was eye opening as well. And Pruitt never said we would’ve lost that game. How could he when the only reason we were down to begin with was a 10 min opening qtr drive that ended in a td for them and a blocked punt? What does any of that have to do with how Maurer played when I seem to remember him having us in scoring position inside the red zone before Tre Smith got a personal foul on second down?cant keep responding to obvious situations. pruitt removed him, we won. said we would've lost had it not been for the guy that replaced him. but im sure u know more than pruitt
Here are 2 articles speaking directly To the spark that y'all say that Brian didn't give the team. There's also direct quste from Jeremy pruitt in the 2nd article regarding the difference between the leadership capabilities of JG and BM
Teammates hail Maurer's impact, ready to see more from freshman
The biggest difference between Brian Maurer and Jarrett Guarantano
Read them. I have even said BM provided a spark for the first quarter that one game which we still lost and got blown out in after the early spark wore off.@k-town_king will definitely not read it.
BM has EVERYTHING to do with JGs resurgence. If he had played as bad as you claim he wouldn’t have lasted as long as he did as the starter and JG wouldn’t have had a reason to feel he should change his approach. He wouldn’t have felt threatened and therefore would just wait it out. But BM, regardless of your bs stats, was MUCH better than anyone outside of myself anticipated for WELL beyond just a half. He was consistent. Week in and week out. He made mistakes but INJURY is the ONLY reason JG got his job back. Not the performance of BM.Read them. I have even said BM provided a spark for the first quarter that one game which we still lost and got blown out in after the early spark wore off.
The second link isn't even Pruitt discussing BM but qbs in general.
All of the statements from the winning streak from Pruitt and players talk of JGs perseverance and that he was our best option.
So for the actual wins that got us to a bowl BM really didn't have anything to do with. Sorry.
Well you have a misunderstanding of accuracy so I don’t expect you to understand but an accurate pass actually CAN be dropped or defended. You do realize he started vs UGA already behind at 4/13 due to the UF and UTC game don’t you? With the 2 drops to start the game vs UGA he was 4/15 before ever completing a single pass inside Neyland stadium. That just over 25% due to no fault of his own before he ever even got started. To reach 47% in his limited time speaks to how wrong you are. He was not only consistent but EXTREMELY accurate...... obviously right?@1vol8 He was consistently inaccurate and turnover prone. That's about it.
JG getting comfortable in the o, like he already said in interviews, is what improved his play. That and the defense helping out more.
