If you hire an attorney to mow your yard, there’s no attorney client privilege. It has to be in some way related to legal representation.

Whether this is legal representation is almost a law school exam question. It’s not clear that was what Rudy was doing but I also don’t think it’s clear that it wasn’t.

you have a fact (timing) and presumption (reason why) in the same statement. The testimony failed to establish the presumption. That's why the Senate is hellbent on more testimony.

That's what I understood her to say. I don't know what the plan is but evidently they have something in mind about how to proceed.

I don't know who 'they' are but I agree that his supporters and detractors are nothing if not slightly more entrenched. People in the middle probably won't be moved much, some will ride or die with his economic success others less so.

It's not as black and white as someone else made it to be.
Wouldn't a court deciding whether or not it's privilege likely err on the cautious side and claim privilege?

But it's true that the Trump White House counsel went to great lengths to fight handing over the whistleblower complaint to Congress. The complaint was submitted to the office of the IG on August 20th. Congress is supposed to get it within 15 days. They did not get it for 4 weeks. The White House counsel knew it was bad. They also knew they had to release the hold on that military aid before the House Oversight Committee got a hold of that complaint. The chronology of events here is really very damning for Trump.

Good question. That's how it is supposed to work. The wily Dems however, are now holding tight to the articles and saying they will only deliver to the Senate once the Senate has agreed to the Dems' terms for the trial i.e. that the Dems will be able to call certain witnesses and get all the documents they desire...

The plot thickens!
