You can apply that on the Dems as well. I find it shockingly hypocritical that you could think impeachment is appropriate here but wasn’t with Clinton. Unless of course you have fallen for the Dem spin machine that believes he was impeached for having an affair. No, we don't. His average approval rating on Real Clear Politics has still never been above the 46.2% that he was elected with and he has consistently trailed Joe Biden head to head in the polls... but why does that even matter? The point is that whatever valid criticism that Republicans have for this impeachment process can be retroactively applied to the impeachment of Bill Clinton as well. It was every bit as partisan. Republicans knew that they didn't have the two-thirds majority in the Senate needed to remove Bill Clinton from office and they knew that he didn't have much time left anyway... and yet they persisted with a highly partisan impeachment.
No, it is a partisan exercise by the Democrats. I can accept the opinion that Trump's offenses aren't worthy of impeachment, and I can accept the opinion that it should be left up to the voters to decide whether or not Trump is removed from office. I just don't accept the opinion that Trump wasn't leveraging congressionally authorized military aid to the Ukraine, in exchange for President Zelensky's willingness to announce on CNN that he was opening an investigation into the Bidens. There is sufficient credible evidence to the contrary and the chronology just doesn't support a defense of Trump. The one and only reason that Trump was requesting a public announcement of an investigation into the Bidens, is because Joe Biden was running for President and Trump wanted to politically damage him. There is no way Trump cares about Burisma Holdings, otherwise. You can apply that on the Dems as well. And the consensus from both sides agrees impeachment of Clinton was a HUGE political blunder. When Bill Clinton was impeached in December of 1998, he only had about 2 years and a month left.... AND IT WAS IN HIS 2ND TERM! House Republicans (including the Speaker, Newt Gingrich) knew they didn't have a two-thirds majority in the Senate to remove Clinton from office, so why did they go to the trouble of impeaching him when he had such little time left? The hypocrisy from the right on this question is just staggering.
Only for those living in their own echo chamber safe places. You're buying into the same propaganda from the media that you accuse Foxnews viewers of falling for. When the democrats put an old creepy ass White guy up with dentures and dementia against Trump the apathy will be strong. That is purely suggestive of wishful thinking and not based on anything forming the basis of reality. It is just wrong to think that there will be voter apathy from the left. Trump feeds the left with energy on a daily basis. By the standard of any modern President, Trump has a very low ceiling. He has done nothing to expand his base. Democrats will crawl over broken glass to vote against him... and as for the polls? They are right far more frequently than they are wrong. I would always prefer to have them favoring my candidate - and per statistician, Nate Silver, they do.
That may be a consensus from Republicans but I haven't heard that from Sen. Lindsey Graham, who voted to convict Clinton but now says that impeachments should not be "purely partisan".And the consensus from both sides agrees impeachment of Clinton was a HUGE political blunder.
Hindsight isn’t allowed in your world?
I think you are underestimating the amount of visceral hate that Trump inspires. I don't see apathy being a problem... and as for this comment in bold? Are you kidding me? Trump is also a creepy, fat, old ass White guy with dentures, a spray tan and a hair weave that he dyes blonde (with his eye brows) - and a former friend of Jeffrey Epstein's. He also spoke of "airports" during the Revolutionary War on July 4th and is a blunder machine on Twitter.Only for those living in their own echo chamber safe places. Lol if youre over 30 and a democrat you are most likely a failure and have a life riddled with regrets and mistakes. That's incomplete.
If you are 20 and aren't a Democrat, you have no heart; if you are 40 and aren't a conservative, you kept your heart; and if you are 70 and not a liberal, you gained no wisdom.
Biden is a borderline self admitted pedophile. LOLI think you are underestimating the amount of visceral hate that Trump inspires. It wasn't just the House's mistake. Graham voted in favor of conviction. He is a hypocrite.Yes he has . He also went onto FOX and I believe it was with Tucker that he said the same thing , “ we made a mistake “
Graham Warns Democrats: Don’t Repeat House GOP’s 1998 Mistake
