The Impeachment Thread

The Republicans are the party of self. You view all politics through the lens of self. (Tax cuts - hell yea, debt - not my problem.) You're a simpleton without a concept of the Government's role in society. You sit on the fence and hurl rocks at the Dems because the deplorables have your back. I will probably never vote for a Republican for President. Party over country is definitely not a value of mine, which is why I didn't vote in 2016. I'm not a religious person, I'm not a selfish person, I'm not a conspiracy nut, I'm for individual freedoms (as long as they don't infringe on others), and I believe in science. How are the Republicans going to try to get my vote? Will they tell me the Dems are going to take my guns and impose martial law? Will they tell me Trump didn't do anything wrong? Forget the Republicans because they forgot me, they forgot decency, and they forgot to tell the truth.
YUUUUUUUUUGE surprise

I think the DIMs and some Republicans also fear Trump. This whole Barr Investigation is likely to expose many of them for what they are. We can only hope it does anyway.

Definitely. The thing that Trump does most that I personally fear is his authoritarian tendencies. The thing that I hate most about Trump is his refusal to work for the good of the country rather than the good of his party. He lost me during his dystopian, f*** everyone else Inauguration speech.

Bush Jr. had it right when he said after it, "That was some weird sh*t!"

basis for seeking a very intrusive fisa warrant related to carted page. CIA CHR Carter Page, omission. Hes a government asset yet we are going to survey him because he's a Russian spy?
He's a former government asset. If he is an asset, I wouldn't think they would need a FISA.

Trump is a junkyard dog and up to his neck in swamp alligators. He fights back like no other Republican ever. All previous modern day Repubs are milk toast IMO. I can understand why many do not like him but I like the results: Courts, Against Abortion, Economy, Taking the Media head on, Building the Wall, etc. Those are issues I care about and why I will vote Trump again.

We are just coming at it from different angles in search of what fits for us . I instead of looking at who the better person is , look at it as more of a business transaction . My vote is extremely expensive what do you offer for it and do I believe you will be the one that will lie to me or screw me over the least . I just expect them all to lie and pander .
I said that if I were in the middle on the issues than that would be the determinant. I am not in the middle on the issues.......except to a degree during the primaries, at which time character plays a big role. That's why I still find it so dumbfounding that repubs. chose the person with the worst character out of a field of 17. That's why it seems intentional to me. Some poster on here said it about a month ago; his vote (and millions of others) was basically just a big middle finger to everyone else. For anyone to act shocked at the democratic response or where this whole Trump catastrophe has led just seem disingenuous and/or naive.

One reason they hate him is because he does fight back like no other R ever. Another reason is because he cares about America first, he wants a great economy he wants ALL Americans to prosper. Dems care about us being liked all around the world, dems like sky high unemployment, they want 10s of millions dependent on their government

All this impeachment stuff is a distraction from how well the country is actually doing. Right now, the economy is booming to historic levels.

Therefore, Democrats had to come up with a way to make things seem worse than they really are, hence impeachment.

Agree and many Republicans are worthless as well. Like the Paul Ryan House Repubs. I'd say about 10 to 20% Repubs may be OK. The rest are swamp creatures. We need term limits.

I get it. I still think Trump's base is too narrow to win again, despite the roaring economy. 2016 was a fluke. HRC sucked and I understand why people voted against her and the continuation of the same old same old. But, Trump has proven himself too focused on his base, and unwilling to ever try to appeal to anyone beyond it. That's a BIG reason why Democrats hate him. Trump not only ignores anyone who's not a supporter, but also castigates them with childish taunts - calling them (and me) "human scum".

Are we really good with just accepting such nonsense as "the new normal"? I'm not.

I have never liked the idea of term limits, to me we have them in place now they are called primaries and elections. I do agree with you 80% ish of Rs are almost just as worthless as dems

I would wager those unemployment rates only get mentioned in passing on CNN/MSNBC etc. But when barry had unemployment at 9% he was Jesus in their eyes.

Trump will win again IMO. His numbers are way up for the Black and Hispanic vote from 2016. Unless he finds a way to alienate them before the election, he should win big.

I understand your point and agree but big money is what keeps them in. Lobbying groups and PAC Money gets them re-elected time and time again.

I think its cute when Democrats pretend to be Americans.

Everything is going great in this country as long as you aren't a worthless human being with zero responsibility.
