How much does playing a bowl game near recruits actually affect their decisions? Do they usually attend them? Pruitt and co. can be in Memphis in a little over an hour via the UT plane, but Memphis as a bowl destination for fans absolutely sucks.

Memphis has thrived under Fuente and Norvell by running an uptempo, offensively minded program. Now they are going to bring in a head coach whose background is all on defense? Seems like they are making this harder than it needs to be.

It's a very short drive to St Augustine and a nice beach and town from Jacksonville.

Memphis has done a very good job with its coaching hires going back to Fuentes. Odom would seem to buck that trend.
