Bama is not the decline. They lost both games due to horrific turnovers inside the 10 going in that were plays that are rare. Tua just dropped the ball vs LSU and the 100 yard pic six turned the Auburn game 180 degrees. Their D was horrifically banged up since preseason and the best QB in the nation missed the past few weeks. And they still barely lost both games. Not buying their demise quite yet

Hey Pawwll...little Nicky put you up to making this post?

Highly doubt Tua is playing another game in a Crimson Tide jersey.

Just for reference....Bama opens up next year against USC (Southern Cal, not the fakers), and gets Georgia too. Between USC, Georgia, LSU, A&M and Auburn, it is POSSIBLE (not likely) that Bama gets 5 losses next year. If Saban doesn't recover (quickly), then it could get ugly.

You left out having to play Tennessee. The streak ends next year in Neyland.

I have been trying to tell people...but..

Bless their hearts.

Bama's combo of WRs, special teams ,and RB is the best I've ever seen.

I think they lose all of those guys this draft. I realize they reload, but this year they had very special talent even for them.
Agreed! Tua was dayum good but his receiving corp drastically improved his stats as well. They’re a special group.

You think their offensive weapons are better than what Clemson had when Tajh Boyd was there? They had Watkins, Hopkins, Humphries, and Allen who have all had very successful NFL careers along with Ellington, Peak, Brown, and a young Martavis Bryant and Mike Bellamy could’ve been an elite RB had he been able to keep his head on straight. I know Bama has a lot of talent this year, but I don’t think their pass catchers are even in the same league as what Clemson had. The only edge they have is at RB

What about a HC gig?

I don’t think he’s moving laterally, especially with the money LSU is sure to offer. Further, I don’t know of many schools willing to take a chance on a guy with one year of college ball under his belt for HC and exceed the money LSU will be offering.

Think he’ll be at LSU for a minute. But then again, I guess anything can happen in a world where everyone’s looking for the next Sean McVay.

How much is LSU forking out for OC? I know Aranda is making $2 mil plus per. It only takes one P5 taking a shine on the next perceived Lincoln Riley to go at least $4 mil a year. Coaching movement is nowhere near over. Rhule moves elsewhere and the hot coordinator would be at the top of that list.

Felt this way about Henry T last year but Nieds reeled him in. Maybe we pull this kid too.
Honestly we WERE on the outside looking in with Henry T last year until Tosh and Bama parted ways. Fortunately we were in position to take advantage of that game changer in his recruitment when it occurred. If AV has the pulse of this thing the way he seems too, we won't need a game changer on DW though. I can't wait to lurk on the UGA boards if it happens.

This^^^ No way they have the game breaking WR's next year that they have now.

He’s been in college football for one year. Was an assistant of some kind with the saints before that. Maybe someone will be willing to throw a ton of money at someone with far fewer qualifications than Pruitt had at the time, but it wouldn’t strike me as a rational thing to do, so I have a hard time seeing it happen.

LSU is about to pay him “NFL-type money” ($1.5m is what I’ve seen). They’re also paying Ensminger $800k, but I think they’re going to scoot him out the door eventually. There are not many $1m coordinators, so him moving laterally prob isn’t happening, and I just don’t see a school taking a change on a guy with so little collegiate experience, regardless of how nuts his one year has been.

If anyone listens to the Big3Rollup podcast, the Miami guy, Kev, and the Florida guy, Silk, both predicted UT for Washington.
Interesting, they said there was some off field stuff that caused UGA and UF to remove him from their board. Miami guy said they’d take regardless and I know he is there this weekend. Any info?
Lolololololololol Florida removing someone for off the field concerns?!?!? 😂 😂 I seriously just choked on my drink.

I do, yes. Not that I don't see room for disagreement, I think you raise a very fair question. But I think the stats, along with the tried and true "eye test" still come out pretty massive in Bama's favor.

Alabama achieved 3 playoff wins, 3 national title appearances, and a combined 5 losses in the last 4 years.
That Clemson group accounted for zero national title appearances, a 70 point loss to WVU, and lost a combined 10 games (while in the ACC).

Tajh vs. Tua best year comparison
Tua 43 TD, 6 INT, 5 Rushing TD, 69% completion, 3966 yards
Tajh 34TD, 11 INT, 10 Rushing TD, 68% completion, 3851 yards

WR 1 Comparison (best year)
Jeudy 14 TD, 1315 yards 19.3 avg (with 1 game left)
Hopkins 18 TD, 1405 yards, 17.1 avg

WR 2 Comparison (best year)
Smith 13 TD, 1200 yards, 18.5 avg (with 1 game left)
Watkins 12 TD, 1464 yards, 14.5 avg

WR 3 Comparison (best year)
Waddle 7 TD, 838 yards, 18.8 avg (with 1 game left)
Bryant 7 TD, 828 yards, 19.7 avg

WR 4 Comparison (best year)
Ruggs 11 TD, 741 yards, 16.1 avg (with 1 game left)
Humphries 2 TD, 483 yards, 11.8 avg

RB Comparison (best year)
N. Harris 11 TD, 1088 yards, 5.9 avg (with 1 game left)
D. Harris 11 TD, 1000 yards, 7.4 avg
B. Scarbrough 11 TD, 812 yards, 6.5 avg

A. Ellington 11 TD, 1178 yards, 5.0 avg
R. McDowell 5 TD, 1025 yards, 5.4 avg

*Not that McDowell was comparable, but Clemson's 3rd best back didn't even deserve to be in this conversation.

I think the consensus can be - they both have been pretty stacked with talent, and depending on who you ask, you may get a different answer.

Sounds more like wishful thinking. LSU forks out Chaney money but a mid-major team wouldn’t approach that to give him his shot at a HC gig? Western Kentucky pays Tyson Helton $800,000 a year and he didn’t revolutionize anything ever. You’re most likely right but it’s not the wild leap you’re making it out to be.

The difference is the defenses. Clemson's offense was championship level... Where they've made the biggest stride is the front seven. Once they got that up to the same level that's when they got to consistent playoff/national title contenders.

Georgia with an offense this year would have probably won it all. We need to kill it on the lines and front 7 to anchor the rebuild.
