The Impeachment Thread

RT is now on record that abuse of power is not corrupt. Keep that in mind when bribery and extortion fall by the wayside and Dems vote to impeach on...abuse of power.
The post literally says that using the office for personal gain is corruption.

How embarrassing.

I’m not trying to draw a false equivalence, I’m saying we had president that literally made up his own rules , created something he had no power to create simply because he could . This to me is more like an authoritarian ruler , a king if you would , than anything Trump has been accused of doing to date . You however are trying to down play one and up sale the other by calling one “ overreach “ and the other , that we seem to have a problem proving to the public at large , “personal gain”. Then you go on to draw the equivalence to right vs wrong . We can always argue the semantics of finding one or both to be corrupt in their on way but that is going to bring back into play perception as I stated earlier .

The idea that the two actions are even equally wrong requires a suspension of at least 700 years of social norms, literary tropes, moral philosophy, the criminal code, the lies people tell to avoid prison... it all reflects the cultural acceptance that a wrong committed for personal gain is worse than a wrong done for unselfish reasons or a wrong committed to protect someone else from an unjust outcome.

That’s not a matter of opinion. It’s not semantics. It’s not me elevating one or whatever. It’s just the way things are.

I’m not willing to suspend those beliefs or pretend they don’t exist in order to defend a sleazy politician but I’m also not willing to do it to slam one I didn’t like. Sorry to disappoint.

Well let’s just define this and be done with it shall we ...

Do you believe the statement that Obama acted in an illegal behavior when he knowing created an immigration law that he had no power to create ? That by doing so he broke the laws that gave him his powers , and taken before the SCOTUS , they would rule that his behavior was illegal? And a departure from the original or what is pure ( the constitution ) ?

You used the r word. Where's OC with his righteous indignation?
We will long rue Trumpism and all it entailed, which inevitably included impeachment.
No. You will rue what you are doing. Trump will go down as one of the best presidents ever in spite of your shenanigans.

Keep singing your faux outrage chump. I'm gonna love watching you cry next November
