Tennessee has always been, for whatever reason, a target for literally everybody nationwide it seems like. Other schools have had massive faux pahs..and nobody seems to care, but let us have any little nothing happen like Pruitt tuggin on a facemask or a jersey, or JJ unintentionally stepping on a guy after making a ferocious hit...and look what happens...I will never understand it.

It is going to take awhile to restore that brand..it does't matter who the coach is outside of a Saban or Urban type.

We pissed off somebody at some point for sure. It's the only reason we get the negative attention we do.

When I saw Pruitt tug the facemask and grab some jersey, I for one, thought nothing of it. I've had it happen to me and have seen it many times. Its puzzling that the media is looking for any little thing to shine a negative light on us.

In the end, I don't think it makes a difference to players. Most of them understand the tough love. And if they don't, we don't need that on our team anyway.

I think we are highly sensitive to anything negative in the media too, and rightly so but a lot of negative blurbs about a lot of schools pop up in the news cycle and are just as quickly farted out into the netherworld. The vast populance of the country never see or even care when a negavol story surfaces.

Gray, a few other 4 star linemen, McCullough, ramel, Maurer, roman, fields, Burrell Etc. All coming off a horrible finish to the season without an oc and questions about other staff. And people acting like the oc search was being run by Currie and we couldn't get who we wanted. I'd say last year was one of the more impressive recruiting jobs I've seen in a while. But he can't recruit.

Agreed. Last years class reminds me of Barnes class with Williams, bone, Bowden and Fulky. . Much better on the field than paper


Really needed a few more elite guys though. Pickens would have changed our view of the WR room going forward a lot

Discount circumstances surround the program to make an argument...Bruining it. Landed elite talent last class...disregard due to inconvenience. Declare narrative before either current signing day...remain silent afterwards. More things change...

Toto would’ve changed the course of our linebacking corps. Morris and Wright would have drastically improved our poor OL...let’s focus on who we didn’t get. Bruining it.

Lol, so those 4 players don’t count to your argument then I see. Well let’s talk about his recruiting then.
2018- you get a 3 star Trevon Flowers. The guy only played football his senior year and still was able to jump up to a 3 star. Are staff recognize his talent despite the film
On him and we got him. If not for injuries, he would of been a big contributor the last 2 years. You also have a 3 star guy named Kurott Garland who weighed 240 coming out of high school, we know what he’s turned into and how he’s helped us win ball games this year. Then you also have a 3 star in JT shrout- Pruitt and Helton see talent and take him and he also helped us win a game this year. I bring up these players to show you a glimpse of what true ELITE recruiting is, it’s not all about getting the guys with the best ratings, it’s about looking through the bullchit and actually finding good football players who can help you win games. That’s what makes Pruitt an elite recruiter.

Look I am not saying he’s recruiting poorly. I think he’s doing a very solid job. I just don’t think he’s recruiting good enough to get into the SEC title conversation just yet and that understandable and ok.

I have always said we have to get to 8-10 wins before we even talk about Atlanta and from what I see in recruiting we aren’t skipping that step
