I feel like 2021 is our first serious chance. I think this year‘s freshman class and this incoming class will be the core that gets us consistently competitive with everyone on our schedule. Sprinkle in a few talented seniors and some potential instant impact players from the 2021 class and we should have the depth to compete for 4 quarters with Bama, UGA, UF, and anyone else that gets in our way.
My only concern about 2021 is that we are going to be losing 7 off the DL after 2020. So while I trust the development of course, that's a lot of experience to replace. We need to nail DL recruiting in this class. On the flip side though, our OL should be elite in 2021.

Man, I think we are close to being a championship team. We were consistent QB play away this year from being 9-3. Defense going to be even better next year. QB play should, should, be better next year. What is our ceiling?
I blame the first game on everyone. Offense/defense/coaching. QB for BYU even though we win if not for one bad play on defense. But I do agree mostly with what you are saying. Ceiling is undefeated but I lean to 8-9 wins for next year. And I’ll be smiling all the way to our nice bowl game.

@HankHill I may have a resentment?
In all seriousness, I'm kinda disappointed not to get to see Leach run his system for a whole season against these defenses, kinda gratified that he chickened out, kinda relieved we don't have to prepare for his wild azz this year, kinda cheated that we don't get to see how Pruitt would scheme, kinda relieved because I think he has a resentment too and would likely troll us all year out of left field to detract from his SEC record.

Update on my dad. He's home. Surgery went well. Feeling some pain but the doc said that was to be expected. They gave him a pain pill before he left the hospital and that helped. He's sitting in his recliner watching SEC Network complaining about the JJ suspension. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

I'm dragging today. Running on about 4 hours sleep. Had to be up at 4:00 to have him there by 5:00.

If we end up with a DL class of Bailey, Baron, Ox and maybe one of the longshots (Stackhouse, Hardy, Toll, or Fillinger) that’s a very solid class. If we can get someone like Brooks or even Page (will be a hard pull against Clemson) that can make an instant impact out of next class then we should be alright, especially if Rocker is still coaching them up.

Just sent this to Sankey:

To Commissioner Sankey:

On behalf of a whole host of people in Volnation, I want to personally voice my displeasure of the 1/2 game suspension given to Jauan Jennings. It is beyond unfair to a young man, who will be playing his last game in the orange and white. Your review committee caved to the pressure from the media and others, who kept writing articles and voicing their displeasures, that he intentionally stepped on the Vandy player’s face. There is absolutely zero evidence in the videos that shows his action was malicious and intentional. There wasn’t even a personal foul flag thrown, yet you chose to allow the suspension to take place. If it was truly intentional, then he would be suspended the entire game and not a half. You compromised to the mob, who was continuing to complain about it, so that they would be satisfied, instead of doing what was just and right, which was taking no action. The fact you and your committee put that action in the same category, as what George Pickens of Georgia did to that Georgia Tech player is ludicrous! Now, that was malicious and intentional. By the way, was he suspended for an entire game??? Nope, can’t do that since Georgia is playing for the SEC championship on Saturday. You and your committee need to make this right and lift the suspension. Let JJ play his entire last game as a Tennessee football player. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Sankey proved he is no different than too many spineless Americans these days. He caved to the twitter mob, which is a mistake, because it means they know that anytime they scream loud and long enough they will get what they want. And what they want is to watch people cave to their demands.

I had 11 hours lol. passed out early with that fever. Now it's gone. I think it was a stomach bug tbh.

In my opinion, while I’m not sure we’re elite anywhere, except maybe the secondary, next year, the only potential weakness I see is at receiver. And I’m not sure they will be that weak. I just believe we need more talent overall before we’re looking at winning the East. I expect us to go 9-3 or, if everything goes right, 10-2 next year.

If he stops that, seek immediate medical attention. Hope he does well, Invol.

I want to keep Rocker for that reason. Add a recruiter elsewhere. He is just too dang valuable as a position coach. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen improvement in a group the way I’ve seen it in our DL. And he’s working with no stars on that DL for the most part. Emerson and Solomon, but the rest are a bunch of throw togethers and he’s doing amazing work with them

I don't think we were nearly consistent enough in the run game either. But yes, I would expect us to be better in all phases of the game next season.
