But the two loses don’t equal. The loss to auburn is far better than your loss to UGA.if you are going by eye test or who would win if they played, I’m inclined to agree it would be Bama.
Based on resume, it would be Florida. Despite margin, I actually think Florida competed against LSU better than Alabama did. But the obvious is that Florida beat Auburn and Alabama didn’t.
Florida has beaten 6 bowl eligible teams and Alabama has beaten 4.
Again, I want people to make sure they read the first paragraph of this post. But, Florida has a better resume.
I’m also inclined to agree with the poster who wrote that this is more about backroom deals with bowl committees than it is eye test or resume
And you lost to UGA and UF more than Bama did LSU and AU. I don’t use transitive wins/losses.
late edit: I just noticed you beat AU head to head. But your losses are not as competitive as Bama. Both your losses you were handled. Bama was there until the end.
Not that I’m against it but why would we play against the number 2 team in the Big 10. We’re the number 5 (tied) team in the SEC.I posted this in another thread dealing with this topic.

Outback Bowl Projection: Wisconsin vs. Tennessee
No one is scared of weak ass tigger highI think UT will look at a bowl recruiting bonus. Fulmer does not want
to play Memphis right now - as he dissed the idea of them on the
immediate schedule in spring when asked. Can't risk losing there. All
about recruit time. Till Norvell leaves Bluff City, load of recruits are his.
Makes me feel the biggest hot spot if Nash-Vegas.
UT wants to keep that foothold and in-state recruiting starts there now.
I could be wrong - but Fiesta and Peach are host games. Leaves Sugar and Rose.
Georgia or Alabama are going to the Sugar. Unless UGA upsets LSU. The Orange
could wreck it all. They'd love to get Bama in there. But, Sugar wants best SEC team
they have the rights to getting.
That leaves Florida and Auburn for Citrus - the other gets the Outback.
SEC likely won't place a 7-5 team over a 9 win. Should Florida jump say Georgia
in pecking order, it still is the same itinerary . 'Dogs get one - Tigers get other.
Not sure if Gator invite is a strong recruiting point, but would be better with Mack
back at UNC, and the success of DC at Wake. Charlotte has players, but those two
surges are going to make it hard. With Gator, they can bolt up into Georgia really
easy to recruit with visibility.
Alabama is most likely guaranteed the outback. Seems like it is now either music city or gator. Alabama losing killed our outback chances unless they are somehow willing to pass on AlabamaNo one is scared of weak ass tigger high
Florida is going to cotton. Auburn will be citrus.
Tennessee is going to gator or outback
