I don't buy it. But even if it was true, how can you hold it against the team that showed up ready to win? Fact is g5 is 7-4 against p5 in bcs/ny6 bowls. If a p5 team doesn't show up ready that's their problem, not the winning team's problem. They were not motivated, and you are either full of crap if you say they were, or dumb if you really believe they were..specifically Bama-Utah and AU-UCF.
This was probably my favorite Eric Gray run from yesterday. Number 33 thought he had him and Gray kind of torqued his body to the left and #33 realized oh crap this kid is fast as Gray was running by him![]()
I dont count bowl games. Even when the Vol's blow out some slow big ten team. Usually those G5 teams are way more motivated that their P5 opponent.I disagree. Utah and TCU have proven they could thrive in those schedules when given a chance. And g5 schools are 7-4 in bcs/ny6 games when given the chance against p5 schools. Those are facts.
Alabama did not give half a crap in that game, and if you remember the context you know exactly why..I don't buy it. Figures. Do you count the fact that since the bcs the only 2 g5 schools who were given a chance to join a p5 conference have thrived and assuming Utah wins next week, both will have won the conference nobody thought they could survive in.I dont count bowl games. Chicken or egg thing. Do you not think them becoming a P5 school has benefited them?Figures. They got lucky as hell with PinkelAbsolutely. Opportunity to poach recruits and start being viewed as one of the stable SEC programs. In time I think some teams will regret the decision because they’ll realize that Pruitt is a good coach and they were just beat by a pretty good team. They’re still viewing Tennessee through the lens of the Ga St loss.
Why fire Odom? Missouri will not find a better fit.
Johnson and sherrar ✌ But yea any coaches “recruiting ability” is going to be elevated here. Bring me the good coaches and developers firstYep, let go the ones who are supposed to be "recruiters" but aren't really doing a great job. Or whose units have been bad this year. You gotta think Sherrer hits the road
Not motivated or didn’t care about the bowl or game is the laziest excuse lol.I don't buy it. But even if it was true, how can you hold it against the team that showed up ready to win? I’m saying he’s ALREADY being recruited over. The point was there wasn't much logic in saying he'd be recruited over, since Pruitt & staff like to develop talent and more time in the system will be the preference moving forward.
I'm not saying Beasley is better than Lawrence, who knows. But speculating our best CB is moved to safety when you've got Theo Jackson, Flowers, Fields, Jaylen, Beasley all on roster and all with at least a year under their belts is not logical. Doesn't mean it won't happen, and it's a good "problem" to have, the secondary should be a very strong group next season and moving forward.
I would project we see Bryce, Taylor as the starters at CB again and Burrell pushing to be the star or 3rd CB in. I think Jaylen and Theo likely start as our safeties with Fields/Lawrence/Beasley and Flowers all pushing them.
You still got Shamburger back too.
Honestly, I'm really saying I don't expect to see a true freshman start in the secondary. Because of the guys returning.
