Coaches recruit areas mostly not just their position group. Regardless we have 4star Bailey in the boat and looking good for Ox, Baron and Thomas. That would be Four 4star DL in this class. Would that make you feel better about Rocker's recruiting?
I haven't looked much into Ox but Baron Thomas and Bailey are all good. What are is Rocker focused on. I just don't hear his name mentioned with recruits often. Also I know coaches focus on certain areas but position coaches matter.

A 3 star late addition to Pruitt's first class with other offers from Eastern Kentucky, Coastal Carolina and Tulane that had folks scratching their heads. He's just a RS Freshman. Coaching and development is in good hands with this staff and anyone wanting Tracy Rocker gone is nuts. Hope he gets a raise and extension.
Agree on rocker.

So with this hindsight. Minnesota wasn't ready for that next step after all, they went 1-2 against ranked opponents. Unfortunately I think Penn State is the better team, but also went 2-2 against ranked opponents. The Big 10 may well have reached the same level as the SEC this season in football.

12-0 Ohio State
10-2 Penn State
10-2 Wisconsin
10-2 Minnesota
9-3 Michigan
9-3 Iowa
8-4 Indiana

12-0 LSU
11-1 Georgia
10-2 Alabama
10-2 Florida
9-3 Auburn
7-5 Tennessee
7-5 Texas A&M
7-5 Kentucky

I'd take any of our 3 7-5 teams over Iowa or Indiana though. But pretty impressive both conferences had 4 teams reach 10 wins.
You member when our 6 and 8 win teams beat the ever livin dogcrap out of high ranked Big 10 teams...I member..

Thinking back to the dumb espn article about coaches not having their hand in training staff.... while i think most of it had to do with not having full contact practices virtually every day...... our team was probably the healthiest it’s been in a long time over the course of the season so we’re doing something right in that department.

Georgia is going to whoop Bama next year and there will be rumblings of Sabans retirement. Heard it here first.

Will not happen unless Kirby finds a better OC!...personally I think he hires Bobo in the off season.wouldnt be a bad hire either..

If they do nothing else before the bowl game and then in spring, they need to practice flare passes and screens to the RB’s. Chandler and Gray are tailor made for using them in the passing game like that and not being able to complete those passes has seriously handicapped this offense.
I agree..you know who is really good at those?? Harrison Bailey..jus sayin 🤷‍♂️

The BIG will never have the roster talent that the SEC has overall outside of Ohio State.... but the BIG has better coaches throughout than the SEC imo i think that is why the “gap” has been narrowed. That could change with a few good hires here and there tho.

Gonna miss Trey Smith on that O-Line. Just had some nasty blocks in the Vandy game. Crazy to think that the O-line could be even better next year.
I selfishly hope he returns next year to prove (health) he is 100% capable of being drafted in the first round.

So here's the thing about the NCAA March Madness vs a playoff in college football.

Say you do let in the Group of 5s, how long before the first matchup? It's usually 2-4 weeks depending on bowl game and conference championships. So Penn State draws Boise State for a chance to win and advance to a chance at the national championship and gets a full 15 extra practices to focus on preparing for them. I mean, you may have an upset but I'd expect most of the powerhouses in the Power 5 to lay the wood.

Because the big difference is other bowl games don't serve a purpose like the playoffs do. Coaches want the extra practices to benefit the team for the next season, but it really won't do much for them in the current season. "Rankings" don't mean much unless they are related to seeding in a championship playoff.

Basketball is just a different beast, it's beautiful and I love it. I love that undersized, less athletic teams can shoot the lights out on a blue blood and knock them out of a tournament. But "win or go home" in a game like football, I'd be shocked to ever see a true underdog upset someone big time.

Why? too much preparation time, too much at stake, too many players for one to make a huge difference. There's also nothing in-game that can separate smaller/less athletic teams from the bigger/more athletic teams like the 3 point shot does in basketball.
Well...at least it will give them a chance. And it will shut up all the people that gripe a about these goofy little teams not getting a shot. I think sooner or later a veteran well coached G5 would win a playoff game, but they are not beating the cream of the power 5 crop for the title...there is just way too much talent differential to win 3 games like that.

I'm not sure which comeback category this fits better in. The I'm rubber yer glue style or is it more of I know you are but what am I type? You probably just need to eat some twinkies.
Well for one thing I've not insulted you once. I've stated my opinion and accepted yours and have agreed to disagree. Now who's the child? Are you one of the ones I was referring to yesterday that thinks someone is less intelligent because they have a difference of opinion?
