How did you all know to mix the two? It's just 2 spectrums of the food groups.

I dunno, I just like a mixture of different tastesand textures. The fattiness of the cheese contrasts with the sweetness and tartness of the apple, same for the dense texture of the cheese against the crunch of the apple. So for a picnic type meals (includes car trips), we have cheese and sausage, apples and grapes, and bread. Maybe dark chocolate to finish.

It’s kind of like when you’re baking, if you don’t add enough salt, you can’t taste the sweet.
