Something missing (shocking) from ESPN Rivalry Week article

Tennessee and Vanderbilt is not a rivalry game. Tennessee has been down for the last decade, but that doesn’t make a perineal whipping boy become a rival. Alabama and Tennessee is a rivalry game.

A&M vs. LSU isn't a rivalry, maybe to A&M but to the rest of the world it's just another game. A&M doesn't even belong in the SEC

i dont think you are aware that they used to play each other yearly for a long period of time before A&M came into the SEC or how close College Station is to Louisiana

Tennessee has a lot riding on the outcome of this game. Vandy views it as their bowl game and they despise UT as much or more than we do them. They will come in here all ginned up for a brawl. And Tennessee better be ready to bring it. GO VOLS!

Guessing a lot of Bama fans say this about us.

TN will come out strong but covering a 20 point line is seemingly too much. Go Vols

We aren’t (and don’t deserve to be) a national program. And vandy isn’t a rival anyway so I’m fine with it being left out. If we start consistently winning again the national media will take more interest in our program.

How about some of you show some respect the history of the rivalry? Alabama doesnt even come close to owning us like Vanderbilt did from about the first 40 years of the series until Neyland was hired. Google it. Yeah they're a shadow of that in the past 90 years but they're still a rival.
No, they’re not. Listen to former players and they’ll tell you. Vanderbilt, from the Tennessee perspective, is in no way a rival. We’re their rival, but they aren’t ours.....been that way for 75-80 years at least. We have 3 primary, constant rivals, Georgia, Florida and Alabama and that’s it.

I'm always amazed at the lengths people will go to find something to troll over.
A factual statement isn't trolling, but that's over your head too. Keep caring about what ESPN says, the rest of us will keep on keeping on.

No because they aren't our oldest rival. Vanderbilt is. We have 127 years of history with Vandy.
I’m not of the opinion that length of series really matters, it’s the competitiveness of the series. We’ve also played Kentucky 115 times, first played in 1893....are they a rival too? Of course not.

You're never going to convince me otherwise about Vandy. I hate them the same as Jennings. Losing to Vandy is unacceptable and I always love to beat them. I hope we stomp a new *** hole in them today and run the score up. We rarely do that though. We always seem to play down to their level even with championship caliber teams.

Every bama fan that I know considers Tennessee a rival. I work with a guy that has season tickets At bama says it all the time that Tennessee is a rivalry game and no matter how bad we are it’s always an important game. The only ones that don’t think it’s a rivalry are the bandwagon fans that jumped on in the last decade.
