Did he just call us all dumb asses?

In a dumbazz sort of inadequate but pretentious way, yes. But it's possible that he understood what we were telling him. A lot of people were being earnest with him.

Edit: I wonder if he will abandon the negative click-baity tweets? He could lead with his strengths and cut out the bad habits he's picked up, I like to think.

The Post-Friend years have not been kind to Bobo. Like Saban's defense and Kirby's offense, his job has been necessary collateral damage in the building of the Pruitt empire.

National Rankings
Sacks Allowed:
2014: 71st *Last season before Will Friend
2015: 22nd *Year 1 for WF
2016: 9th
2017: 5th
2018: 70th *Post-WF
2019: 86th

Rushing YPC:
2014: 42nd
2015: 36th
2016: 25th
2017: 26th
2018: 123rd
2019: 86th
Good info.

To be fair he wrote that article in May...
I was grossly disappointed in Ubben's tweet this week promoting (by implication) and disseminating the espn hit job about the medical system. The problems were under Jones and Pruitt appears to have remedied them, and Ubben could have said so in the tweet instead of (perhaps) adding some fine print somewhere that neither most of twitter nor I myself ever found.

Service rankings are a joke
The last umpteen champions have been in the blue chip ratio club (>50% blue chip recruits according to the services). All 4 playoff teams were in the club last year. The top 5 teams right now...all >50% Blue Chips. The sec destroys everyone in NFL draft picks and according to the recruiting services. Go by championships or the draft, the correlation is undeniable.

Not that it takes a genius. I've argued one could make a simple recruiting rating algorithm merely based on offers and it would be nearly as good as any recruiting service imo.

I waffle on the SEC 2 getting in, solely because it could be our first shot and I don't want the precedent set for omitting us at 1 loss. But I don't want bammer or GA in. Conundrum.
Bama is unique because they are down their best player. Them not getting in won't set precedent imo.

UGA is definitely in with the sec title, definitely out with a loss...or better be. Hate is not a strong enough word for them.

You know sometimes (especially in BB) you just have a bad game. It hasn't got a dang thing to do with bad coaching or "being prepared"..

Love you Cat, and I defend you sometimes because I know you have real issues that you deal with, but damnation...You are such a little douche sometimes..🤦‍♂️
Bingo. Basketball is very unique. All the prep in the world can't prepare you for all the weird things that can happen in BB. And shooting...there's no explaining poor shooting nights.

Yeah...my thing is every year there are dozens of good to elite quality type players that fall through the cracks. The big dawgs have been identified a long time ago, and all the big schools are going after them.

Imo..a school with great resources in man hours and material, and good evaluators, can supply an elite supply of talent by investing in going after the unidentified gems. It won't look great on signing day, but it will on game days.

I know you can't recruit out of the 20s and compete for champs consistently...like you say the stats prove that out, but I think it has also been proven that the way Clemson has done it till just recently will also work.

You do not have to have top 5s to win. You have to recruit top 20 or better, with above average evaluation, and develop the hell out of them, and then you can net more of the ready to go elite talent.

This will have to be our path. We are not going to recruit top 5 for awhile...just too much damage has been done over the years.

Truth. That conference is way underrated. Bunch of good teams.
The best G5 conference no doubt, but still...the entire bunch of them haven't beaten a single above .500 P5 team all year. Their best win all year is SMU over 5-6 TCU by 3. Their very best product beat the 12th best SEC team by 5 points.

If Ubben thinks people are not "getting the full context" of his tweets, he doesn't understand the medium. Twitter is a medium in itself. Most people don't click the links within them. His troll tweets stand on their own because that's how most people consume Twitter.

I suspect he knows this and just puts up the minimum mea culpa to sheild it. If not, he doesn't understand the medium. If so, he's being disingenuous. He's using click bait tweets to drive traffic like so many hack "journalists" of this age.

Maybe he does try to put thought into his articles, but the tweets I've seen cast a shadow on that. You can point out the negative stuff without the stupid snark.

Are you saying we can't demand that our coaches have us in the top 5 by a certain day just because we want it to happen that way? How do you expect us to manage? Can we still whine because we don't like that?

Really good post by the way....... The more we win, and the better the players perform, the faster it will happen.

@David Ubben Stop trying to explain yourself and just learn from it. @Aesius explained it best I think in his post. Just admit that you ****ed up and do better.

I really do enjoy reading your articles and yeah, you screwed up with your pithy, unnecessary cheap shots but it's nothing that cant be undone. Stick to what you are good at and dont try to be some pot stirrer on Twitter.

Also, stop hocking your articles in your defense posts. It makes you look like a chump.

@David Ubben all day long. It’s exactly what he’s doing
