I did not particularly care for HRC. But she would have been an infinitely better choice than Trump.

Unfortunately It's standard operating deception for real estate barons. It works best when you don't get caught doing it. It most likely will lead to a fine that is written off as a business expense.

uh huh....... But you did vote the party line. That idea w/Hillary will never be known as a fact. You & your sister EL have taken up Luther's belief about Hillary. Hillary was the most unqualified candidate to run for Prez. But keep that hope & change idea alive. One day one of your loony lefty candidate will pick that line up again & run with it.

No it's not. It no damn different than having your house appraisal come in at x and your tax assessment y. So if your house appraised for more than what you are taxes on you must be a crook too.

No, this is not that at all. In both of those cases you mentioned, you're not making a representation to the government or a third party. Two different entities are simply appraising the same item differently. In Trump's case one party (the Trump org) is making different representations to two different parties.

Yeah, it happens every damn day. You have appraised value and future value (there is a term for it that escapes me right now) but in commercial property you are getting a loan from the bank on future value which includes revenue. You pay taxes on current appraised worth. There is no fraud in that.

Did you read the story? He represented to lenders that his commercial real estate was at near full occupancy, allowing him to get a favorable loan. To the government taxing authorities, he represented a lower occupancy, allowing him to pay less in taxes.
