I agree I think it's going to be the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. However if two SEC teams get invited to the BCS Playoffs Tennessee could wind up in the Outback Bowl.
I’ll be honest. I’d rather have the Gator Bowl because we have always matched up better against Big 10 teams than Big XII teams. I don’t like a matchup against Iowa State at all. They’ve got a lot of momentum heading into bowl season as well.
Need to know what the consensus is. Wanna get tickets but obviously don’t wanna buy tickets to a bowl the Vols don’t go to.
Music city or Gator bowl?
Anyone who thinks Tennessee would fall to the lame Liberty bowl is an idiot. It’s not even possible this yearSo far this is what I found. I think most stuff comes out on Monday morning or later this afternoon. I think a pretty reputable poster on here said the Music City Bowl is pretty much a done deal. So I guess we’ll wait and see.

Quick bite: We're still hearing positive things about the Vols' shot at Jacksonville, especially following Saturday's victory at Missouri — Tennessee's fourth straight win. If Jeremy Pruitt's team takes care of business vs. Vanderbilt next week, we think this is where the Vols end. The Music City Bowl and Liberty Bowl are also options for a 7-5 Tennessee squad
I dont disagree but the Vols will get a lot more national respect/attention playing Texas than boat racing another Big 10 team...
I'd want Michigan but I'd rather play Texas than some overmatched Big 10 or ACC team that doesnt move the needle nationally...
If Texas plays like they’ve been playing people will be turning TVs off or heading to their car anyway. I’d like to play Michigan the story lines could be great. Either way I guess I shouldn’t be complaining since we are going bowling. Just win.
I don’t think that’s how it works anymore. I agree though, I still think of the liberty bowl as a lower end SEC tiered game. The Liberty might give us a really interesting Big 12 opponent though.Anyone who thinks Tennessee would fall to the lame Liberty bowl is an idiot. It’s not even possible this year
Not sure if a typo but in ‘95 Peyton was the QB. The ‘94 Vols beat VT in Gator Bowl . Was played on New Year’s Eve . Did not play a bowl game in ‘95 ... as the ‘95 team beat OSU in Citrus bowl on January 1 ‘96 . Rick Clausen played 10 years later .Big XII teams have always been more difficult for us. Big Ten we play tighter or blow out. Only time I can even remember beating a Big XII since 1995 was Texas A&M with Rickey Clausen.
