Where are we going bowling most likely?

I’ll be honest. I’d rather have the Gator Bowl because we have always matched up better against Big 10 teams than Big XII teams. I don’t like a matchup against Iowa State at all. They’ve got a lot of momentum heading into bowl season as well.

Recent history says we’ll do well in the outback bowl.

I just want a better bowl for thes players. They’ve given their all for Tennessee they deserve the best reward when past teams would have folded.

IOWA ain’t covering Jennings and Callaway. Mix in Palmer and the Vols got one hell of a shot at 8-5. There isn’t a Vol fan alive that won’t be proud of that.


(Yes, I know, it could have been 10-3. Blah blah blah)

I dont disagree but the Vols will get a lot more national respect/attention playing Texas than boat racing another Big 10 team...

I'd want Michigan but I'd rather play Texas than some overmatched Big 10 or ACC team that doesnt move the needle nationally...

There will be plenty of tickets available no matter which bowl game we are selected for. I’d recommend just being patient and waiting. You’ll probably snag them for less than face.

If Texas plays like they’ve been playing people will be turning TVs off or heading to their car anyway. I’d like to play Michigan the story lines could be great. Either way I guess I shouldn’t be complaining since we are going bowling. Just win.

The wife is a Longhorn and she's a sucker for making bad bets - The real reason Texas is my 2nd choice (after Michigan)....

I think it’s the Gator Bowl win or lose next week. It seems the Florida bowls usually like us based on our history. Plus we haven’t been to a bowl since 2016 so you know fans will travel.

I don’t think that’s how it works anymore. I agree though, I still think of the liberty bowl as a lower end SEC tiered game. The Liberty might give us a really interesting Big 12 opponent though.

I don’t want Iowa... boring. I don’t want Michigan... we could get embarrassed and that could be bad.

I’ll take anyone we can beat, nothing like exposure of a bowl win and building momentum for next year.

Not sure if a typo but in ‘95 Peyton was the QB. The ‘94 Vols beat VT in Gator Bowl . Was played on New Year’s Eve . Did not play a bowl game in ‘95 ... as the ‘95 team beat OSU in Citrus bowl on January 1 ‘96 . Rick Clausen played 10 years later .

Edit **** just re-read your post . I see where you said “since ‘95”, not IN ‘95. My mistake
