And I stand by that.
Who do you or others think has been the best through 4/5 games?
Again I’m not saying he “is” the best player; however to me he has been through the games played this season........thus right now he has played the best to me.
Prob could have clarified as “played the best” I guess....but nevertheless to me he has been the best player though 4/5 games.
Just messing with you.
I think it's been Bowden, honestly. Bowden is infinitely better at creating his own shot, which there was a time in his career I'd have been shocked to type out the words "Bowden creating his own shot" in succession.
Pons has been a spot up shooter on the perimeter and a fortunate beneficiary inside. He has created on a few occasions, but most of his buckets have come on spot up 3s, open 15-foot midrange shots, and then dunks and putbacks. I can probably count on one hand the number of times he's taken anyone off the dribble and created. That isn't a knock on him, necessarily. If anything, it illustrates an area where he can still further improve.
Both have been equally effective defensively, too. Pons' effectiveness has come in the form of blocked shots while Bowden's has come on steals.
Rebounding is fairly even considering their positions. Pons could truthfully grab another couple boards a game given his athleticism and leaping ability, but he is still learning how to be a PF, right now, and what all that entails.
Shooting percentages are both astronomical, but Bowden has maintained it on more shots. One area of improvement that I haven't seen mentioned for Pons is in his FT shooting. He is a career sub-50% FT shooter, but is currently 6-7 on the season.
