'20 TN DE Jay Hardy (Auburn commit)

So you are going to judge a high school kid on message board hearsay and speculation? Nevermind.... It goes on in every thread if a kid doesn't commit to us. Carry on.
I didn't judge anything.... Simply asked if you've read the thread. Obviously you either haven't or are turning a blind eye to every single report that's out there beyond "message board speculation"...

Carried it...

There were many reports from connected people. It is far more than message board hearsay and speculation. The speculation part is in how it changed, not that it changed. He went from being privately committed to UT and telling everyone around him (friends, players, coaches) that he was going public with that commitment later in the week, to committed to Auburn a day or two after visiting the cabin. You do the math.

Can't speak for everyone but for me (and a lot of posts made) it's not about choosing Auburn, it's how he handled it.

Idc about bagmen, no excuse to just ghost the coaches like that. And how many did we not push harder for because that spot was "secure". Just left friends and staff hanging with no warning.

Every kid I've seen interviewed has said the staff has been nothing but honest with them, I don't think it's too much to ask for the same in return.

I totally agree with that whole post. Tells you a kids character and upbringing. It's ok if you don't choose us but dont be disrespectful.

I won't say anything about upbringing, seen too many case of "despite". But definitely a bad character type move.

Just stay in contact, be honest and at least give those counting on you, a chance. Take some extra time, then if Auburn is best for you, good luck and no hard feelings.

A "kids character".....the operative word is kid or older teenager if I am being somewhat respectful. As for "upbringing".....my parents tried their damndest but my character slipped a few times I'm sure. Point being, disparaging upbringing remarks without knowledge causes me to question ones "upbringing".

Hearsay? Are you serious? Kid was telling every recruit at UT he was coming here. Why do you think zero UT recruits had a damn thing to say to him? Most of the time these kids congratulate each other even if they don’t come to the same school.

What I'm saying is this happens every year with at least one recruit. All the insiders (including reporters) say a kid is all Vol. That they told coaches and recruits so. Then they put on another hat on their commitment date. Coaches take commits from kids, then ask them to look elsewhere, or completely ghost them. Some kids silently commit, then officially commit elsewhere and aren't mature enough to let coaches know. It's the nature of the beast in this generation. That's why I take supposed silent commits with a grain of salt. But to say a KID has poor character or upbringing because they handled their first major life decision poorly is a bit of a stretch.

Oh I’m sorry straight up LYING to people is a good character trait. I have no idea if he has good character or poor character but he handled this poorly. He then doubled down acting like an absolute DA on social media and blaming the staff then saying Tennessee offered him money. Not judging but that’s the actions of a POS person. Hopefully he learns better wherever he lands.

I also say "hearsay" because I don't believe every damn thing I read. It was also said that BJ Ojulari would stick to his word once he verbally committed. We see how that worked out. But, that doesn't make him a crappy human being.

I don’t think many people had that big an issue with BJ. Most knew we had a problem when Gilbert committed down there.
