Stinks. Pendulum seems to have swung way too far in the opposite direction to try and overcompensate for mistakes made when the way was cleared for pill mills.

Yeah and it's not that hard. A condition with 100% verifiable proof. Blood tests can confirm if the proper amount is taken. Have certified specialists approve.

But ins companies are using it as an easy out on paying and the news is just clickbait stories, it sells.

I do know one person who is happy with the ACA. She lives off of conservative investments, hasn't worked her whole life. Had some serious pre-existing conditions that made it difficult to buy an individual plan. Since ACA, she's been able to get a sort of catastrophic coverage for about $400 a month and she has an annual deductible of about $7k iirc. So she's one the hook for up to about $12k a year but it keeps her from worrying about having to make lifestyle changes, like working for a living. Not sure she was Obama's target audience, but it seems to have worked for her.

It's hard to swallow your pride and admit you need help, especially when you're aware so many abuse the system. And the thing is, those who truly need it shouldn't have to feel ashamed because a bunch of ass holes who don't need it, abuse it. I reached a point where I no longer had a choice, but it was a hard pill to swallow.

With me it is just a choice, my doc pushed me to apply for it 15 years ago, but there are things I like doing that would be impossible on the little bit of barely survival money you get.

I am going to fight it as long as possible. But my knees in particular are getting so bad, I may not have a choice much longer. It is not really about the pain with them, it is about the fact I can not hardly walk anymore.

not to break rank here, but, this is where it happens. free programs are good for those who need them. there has to be audit systems, id be willing to pay for that. If the Govt can play Mommy, it can also practice tough love.

Doc friends tell me about the parents coming in lobbying for kids perceived or contrived ailments. Often times they may receive designations based on Docs trying to get them out the door.

An attorney i know says Tri Cities/SW Vag have highest incidences of SSD fraud in country. It is a thriving business. Sometimes a kid can be on disability for one, two, or three things. What is that teaching your kids?

I am a centrist myself. There are a lot of things that are disgusting and perverted to me, but I whole heartedly believe in peoples freedom to do those things if they choose. Unlike most conservative fundametalists I do not believe in legislating my morality on to others....on the other hand...I don't want the freaks legislating theirs onto me.

I've gotten so sick of identity politics that I can't hardly watch the news or discuss politics with anyone any more. Many people have forgotten that we're all on the same team, and they should use their own brains, rather than believing what the TV tells them... just my 2 cents.

We need to help poor people, but there are tons of lowlife scumbags that game the system, to the detriment of all. There should be ways of weeding the lazy garbage thieves out, without hurting the ones that really need and deserve help.

what kills me is when people decry Centrism as dead. well, X or Y didnt work, so lets live out here on the outer fringes of this issue or that. Not sure what happened, but, somewhere along the way people lost ability to self reflect - and, self honesty became a thing of the past. Line between what is real and what's a dream became obfuscated, veiled by cloud of what i believe is entitlement, expectation, predicated in material wealth, etc. Living for false pursuits can only end in dissappintment.

Unfortunately, they become the face and focus of the entire process.

Truth is, disability attorneys are in constant battles because of how hard it is for legitimate cases of disability to be approved these days. But because of the minority that were able to scam the system, most people think that's the "norm". It's what gets the attention.

There are a lot of people out there who are hurting, toughing it out. People who, despite their best efforts, arent able to work. Mentally, emotionally, physically challenged. I agree with you, but you lost me amidst the venemous name calling & judgementalness.

I do sincerely think this World has lost one crucial thing, that would help us all. Empathy. Apply to almost any pertinent World issue, currently in news. And in same critical fashion imagine how things are being viewed. Do you think we are helping people? Or; are we teaching everyone else that we are lazy, self centered, apathetic jackholes who only care about self interests?

I get where you're coming from. It's easy to say the things i'm saying not being in someone else's shoes. But if we're to emulate the One we believe in. Should not the energy we expend placing blame & pointing be redirected at caring & empathizing.

Kirby will never have more talent than he does now and they can’t get it done. The offense has regressed despite returning that huge OL, Fromm, Swift, etc. They’ve got the best defense ever n the country and could only beat Florida, Auburn, and Norte Dame by a TD... they get beat by South Carolina... Yeah they’re 9-1 but I just don’t see them doing any better than this. Hopefully the recruits see that too. LSU will destroy them and then they’ll get upset in the Orange Bowl by Virginia Tech

UGA is returning to the SECC for the third straight year, but the programs are heading in opposite directions? UT has more room for growth since they have nowhere to go but up. Kirby is an elite recruiter in a talent rich state, so I doubt the recruiting bottoms out. LSU and their high powered offense managed 2 more points against Auburn than UGA did and won by a lesser margin. The lack of experience and returning production at receiver certainly hurt UGA, but saying that wins over 3 ranked teams is a sign of regression is a bit ridiculous. UGA has more top 10 wins than any other top 10 team besides LSU and is tied with LSU for ranked wins overall.

Sort of. UGA made an appearence using their current scheme, but I think they'd have a higher probability of returning if they swapped schemes like Orgeron did with LSU. Its either that or hoping 2 starting caliber nfl running backs return for their senior year, which doesn't happen often.
