He really did hustle hard while he was in. His shooting ability and size inside will make him a contributor. I appreciated his effort last night.Kent stroked a beauty up top. Then forced one from the corner. The best part of his game is stepping out beyond the 3PL. He's needed to mix it up in the paint defensively. That will take some time to develop.
I think JJJ looks smooth. He's just finding his way after not practicing and being new to the college game.In the first half I was thinking, well maybe next year. In the second I was thinking we gonna whoop everybody. JJJ is kinda like Pons last yr. His shot just doesn't look good; but I can see he is a stat stuffer. In fact he reminds me of Tyler Smith..............stat stuffer and similar body type. One good thing about JJJ is he will be around for more than one year.

I just don’t understand this mindset. Everyone knows what we lost from last year. The returning players are transitioning from role players to featured players. We’ve got 4 freshmen and 2 returning guys who didn’t play any meaningful minutes last year. We’ve got a 5* freshman who’s not become comfortable enough yet to produce at his talent level. If you’re saying the way the team looks in the first week of the season won’t make the tourney then maybe you’re right. Barring injuries, I don’t see any chance of CRB not getting these guys to mesh together into a highly competitive group before March.
Because it us a tricky tack foul....A lot of times the call does look ticky tack but he isn't straight up with both hands. One foul last night he had one hand up and the other in the guys back. That foul is gonna get called even if the offensive guy initiates the contact. And other time he had both hands up but was leaned over just slightly. He's so close to being a really good defender and staying out of foul trouble if he'll just clean up a few of those technical mistakes. imo
