Auburn will beat Georgia this weekend and eliminate them from the playoff talk. Remember, Auburn had an off week this past weekend. They are about to show everyone just how anemic the Georgia offense really is.
Interesting to me how bama handles tua the rest of the year. I wouldn’t play him until the iron bowl. Then if you get lucky and get in the playoff he’s played one game in like 2 months. That's how they should play. Bammer vs Ohio St
Yeah, but they are "trying to get the 4 best teams" not who deserves to go because of winning their conference is what everyone keeps saying. If AL wins the rest of their games and defeats Auburn to which Oregon lost to plus the only loss is by 5 points to the team that wins the SEC, that will probably win the eye test. That is what I don't like. It always ends up an eye test instead of champions.
Allows us to get healthy as well. We are banged up. We needed the time off bigly. Wish there were 2 bye weeks every yearI think it's huge for the team's mindset this year. Gives Pruitt and co. an extra week to remind the players of last year's late season meltdown. Plus it just gives everyone a breather.
Could go for 8. Would hate 6 because it makes for infinitely more endless debates since the playoff bye would be huge and advantages the already-best teams.I am in favor of expansion to either a 6 or preferably an 8 team playoff. Have your conference champs and then at-large or wildcard team/teams. And start the freakin playoffs at max 2 weeks after conference championship games. I get so frustrated at the 5 or 6 week lapse in between the season and waiting so long for the playoff games.
Incredible Hulk wasn’t done by Marvel Films iirc...could be wrong. I’m sure the missing Pixar films are upcoming. Maybe teasing future subscribers.
Which is why I think if you're going to have a playoff instead of bowls, get rid of conference championship games (which gives those not in them like ND and Bama an unfair advantage and sometimes creates rematches), and have conference champions plus a few more teams that a committee thinks deserves in. Would be more fair and way more fun than the same few teams in a 4 team playoff.I get the feeling, but it's punishing conferences for having multiple elite teams.
Besides, conference championships have their own separate, inherent value. For a century we had 5 (or however many power conferences) conference champions and only 2 played for the title. They are valued by the conference and team regardless. That doesn't mean it needs to be a prerequisite for the country finding who the best team is.
Imagine for a second if next year we beat everyone except a 1 pt loss to UGA when our starting QB was out. We beat Bama, ou, and UF handily. But UGA goes undefeated, and so wins the East over us. They win the SECCG as clear national #1.We're not a playoff team here? I can't buy putting a conference title importance over who is best.
Only if one underestimates the impact of injuries and dings. Two weeks to recover is never not a good thing on their health status. Drawback is if you have momentum, a break could cut into that. Rather have Toto, Bituli and hopefully Wright at least close to 80-100%.you guys vastly overestimate the benefit of a bye week.

Agree with everything here. NCAA is beyond stupid.I am in favor of expansion to either a 6 or preferably an 8 team playoff. Have your conference champs and then at-large or wildcard team/teams.
