'20 TN DE Jay Hardy (Auburn commit)

I know people are trying to say it isn’t over, but I don’t buy that. We never flip these kids from Auburn once they commit.

Yeah, it would be a first for us. Still, the fact that he is keeping it open to February makes you wonder how committed he is, and I said that on Monday when it looked like he was going to be picking us.

It's a toxic situation. The kid doesn't seem torn about his decision or regretful at how he handled it. Respect costs nothing, and for whatever reason, he hasn't shown any toward UT. Let this one go and move on before there's collateral damage.

Are you talking to him directly?

Just curious on the accuracy of your post.

Complete heel turn. I haven't felt this betrayed since Ted DiBiase turned on the Junkyard Dog.

Tyler's punking the Barners. He's punking everybody right now. He doesn't like everybody assuming he's going to UT because of his dad. He wants people to know he's making his own decision and going where he wants-- and he seems to be having fun doing it.
I don’t like him one bit. He can get bent. I think he’s overrated too.

My biggest issue is what if he tells them he is flipping to UT, then stand us up at the alter again and this time we had a spot reserved for him? Can we take that chance and then end up with none?
I don't think we'd let it get to that point if we do continue to recruit him.

And it's at least uncertain just how recruitable he is at this point. Some seem to think it's not over... Others think there's too much to walk back at this point.

If I had to guess... We probably move on at this point.

I get the guy’s tweet was satire, but man grab some attention some other way. Kid’s see this stuff and it grows old on them and leaves a bad taste in their mouth. Jay has no clue who that guy is but the perception of a couple can give a bad name to all. There is a fine line on twitter because there are so many burner accounts and people trying to create a drama and controversy by doing stuff like that. You can’t respond to that because you’re just playing their game. However, an identifiable account that is doing something for attention and doing it towards a kid is when you can call a spade a spade.
I have always said, we have the greatest fans in the world...and, we have the worst fans in the world. In the age of social media, the worst of us has been one of my biggest concerns when it comes to recruiting.

Fingerpaint guy, Sab, and some others give us a TERRIBLE look, because they are ALWAYS on social media communicating or trying to communicate with recruits.

Auburn puts serious hooks into kids. Their system has to incorporate the parent some how.

To where if the kid breaks his commitment (goes back on the deal), it negatively impacts the kid’s parent.

Last minute switches always hurt the most especially when a recruit has lied or changed his mind without telling the losing coaching staff.
Always leads to the “bagman” speculation.
Hope that didn’t happen here. Auburn used to have that “reputation” to try to compete with their big brother in Tuscaloosa.

Used to have that reputation? Lol When did it change?

I don't understand that either. Why is that such a big deal? Are the UT coaches taking him for granted? It sure doesn't seem that way. We could desperately use some good news on the recruiting trail and some momentum now.
