In order to earn all that money you would need to fulfill the entirety of that contract as well as doing it to the employers standards. He did neither so I don’t feel he deserves all that money, nor has he EARNED it at all.
He did that beforehand. Buyouts are based on currently inflated value. No performance clause. Otherwise a buyout would have no point.

I'll just say coaches have all gained far too much leverage with all the money floating around these days. It's crazy.

The bubble will eventually burst. Ticket sales are down and people are cutting cable, which means ESPN in far fewer homes, which will eventually mean fewer advertising dollars. Combine that with a slowly decreasing participation in football and I think we'll be looking at a vastly different CFB landscape in 10-15 years.

I also think the CFB playoff is hurting the sport. Especially with the same 4-5 teams making it almost every year, and the same two teams playing for the title almost every year (and showing no signs of stopping). It feels more pointless than ever.

If they choose to run, I welcome that.By the way Miss.St says Hello! 👋🏽 Our Run defense is better than our pass defense.Stoops Last year had better everything just about and we still beat them because his only gameplan was trying running it down our throats.i am more worried about our OL and QB play honestly.
Their run game is quite a bit better than last year. But not being able to pass (but let's be real, Terry Wilson hardly could either) certainly boxes then in. But I think their OL is improved and they have 3 runners averaging 4.7 YPC or higher. Smoke is at 5.7 iirc and Bowden at 7.9.

I think it’s both tho. They have that power and I’m always pro coach for them to flex it bc they can be like jimbo and win a natty, playoff appearance and basically average 11 wins or whatever and the momment you have a bad season people want you gone. Get it why you can.

While no one can really say how much interest he’s gotten, I would venture to guess that Butch would jump at a multi year offer at a decent P5 school. That would allow him to make more money and rehabilitate his image if he can make it work. No one knows what kind of interest he has really gotten, and I can’t recall how old his youngest son is. That can make a difference as well.

If Harbaugh left and Michigan came calling today, he would almost certainly take it. But we all know he hasn’t gotten that interest, and that is why he is milking UT.
Butch Jones coaching Michigan is really comical. That would be fun to watch though :):)

Honestly we are pretty stout next season on the d-line. If we bring in Bailey, Thomas, Baron and the d tackle from KY we will be alright without Hardy. We cannot afford to whiff next cycle on the d-line though. Our d-line will be a weapon next seaso. Gooden, Middleton, Emerson and Solomon along with the others. I'm not freaking out like others are.

Could be totally right. I'll just say with every market bubble prediction, there are many future unknowns. Innovations, disruptors, capital shifts, etc. People were calling for an equity market burst 6 years ago 🤣 People at work were literally shoving their 401Ks into TiPS smh.

It is one of the only professions you can completely suck at, and drive your employers into the ground and still get paid millions..smh. It is stupid because most coaches suck at their job if you think about it. Very few 66% win rates when you look at all of CFB.
Coaches and financial advisors...and failing CEOs. Great jobs to fail your way into millions.

I wouldn’t consider being paid the remaining of a contract that you earned and both sides agreed to a “handout”.
Exactly. Some dumb a$$ in Knoxville agreed to pay $8 Million if they fired him. As long as UT adds that language in contracts, coaches should free to take it and run. FSU coughing up $18 Million is funny as he!!. The people allowing that language in coaches contracts should be fired when the coach is fired. That might put an end to these stupid contracts.

Synopsis?

Butch threatened to take away playing time from players that sought medical treatment. So if a guy had a small, nagging injury he’d “encourage” them to tough it out instead. Over time that small injury would become compounded without treatment. Then guys start missing time anyway because it was never corrected early on and they would suffer a major injury. It was why we had highest rate of “lost starts” in the country. That’s just one chapter.

Next year we will have 7 seniors on the DL. We have to nail som DL recruits in this class and next. And that’s the position we’re struggling to recruit the most

Wonder if any take a redshirt next year? Play four big games and practice all year then hang it up

Change of topic....heard yesterday rhat CFP will be 8 teams in next 3-4 years max...before new tv contact. Probably each P5 will get automatic qualifier.
Really hope so. Would at least have a decent shot in next 3-5 years. 4 team felt nearly impossible for us.

But does this kill conference championships? Would seem to only hurt sec teams. Better to be 2nd in either division and slide in.

I can't be the only one that thinks that this hasn't stopped at just kissing before, right? You know some players have...anyway.

That's just....weird.

Additional head turn is the way she touches them differently acc to who it is. Some just fingertips and super quick cheek peck.
Others the hands sliding down their chests with...

Just oof 🤦‍♂️

Yea it’s really ironic actually. These ADs are scared to death to lose these coaches so they put in these crazy buy outs but then the next year they want to fire them when they don’t meet expectations so they are stuck with this huge buyout.
