I'm more interested in who's healthy and starting on the OL

Trey & Brandon are the only two for certain starters I can think of, I'm sure each are nursing somethings but seem the healthiest on the line.

Wright still hobbling, Morris with the shoulder

Carvin going to get a start? I actually think he's played really good lately. Maybe the guy at RG? Calbert I'm sure starts somewhere if he's healthy, what about Jahmir?

I'm asking if anyone knows...not just speculating. We need to be able to have a MSU type rushing day at Kentucky I think to win. Cause we'll need to keep our defense as fresh as possible since we know Kentucky will basically try to run and milk the clock on us.
Or just score points. Tough to continue running the ball and milking clock when you’re down 3 scores.

SMH... come on man. This world needs to wake up and everyone stop taking hand outs. What other job in the world could you lose and make millions for years for doing nothing? It is pitiful for anyone to have that mindset that I am not going to work because I am getting paid by someone else. If I lost my job today and got a severance, I would still find another high paying job and work. I guess that is the difference between me and Butch. I am a man and he is not.
I call BS man. If I manage a corporation, I offer you (Smyrna ATL Vol) a position in our corporation and provide you with a contract with those terms and guaranteed failure money spelled out. You work your ass off to the best of your ability non stop for years and just can't get it done. I terminate you, BS you are going to tell me, "Here sir, take all these millions back, I'm a man. "

What?? Lol. Step down from your soap box for a minute and think about it.

Butch is at the best program in the country. He gets to do all the football stuff he wants without all the bs of recruiting, dealing with boosters, etc. literally just watch film, probably develop special teams plan, go home. So his work hours and job pressure is way less so and probably way more fun. All while still getting paid the rest of his contract that he earned and both parties agreed to. That’s the whole point of working for a deal like that. Any person in here would do the exact same thing.

Say you’re the CEO of a fishing company. You do all the marketing, planning, finance etc. you sigh a contract for 5yr100k a year to be paid out even if fired. You get fired and are owed that. Some other fishing company says hey come aboard. We will pay you a small stipend until your buyout is up. All you have to do is just test your new gear. Basically just fish all day. Everyone in here would do it.
I work in Public accounting so long hours is my life. I have no sympathy for anyone who doesn’t want to work hard for their money. It’s not a soap box. If someone came to me and said do you want to only go in market and drive business? I would say no. Would it be less hours and stress? Absolutely. But I feel a bigger purpose in mentoring my team and being a leader for them. We are going to disagree. I was raised that you work hard in anything that you do and if you want something, go get it and don’t let anything stop you. If Butch wants to hold coffee and enjoy an easy life, that says a lot about him and it is not something I could ever do. I am a natural leader and alpha male.

Are you a man? Are you 40?

Did I say I wouldn’t take the money? Lol. I said I would take the money (see severance comment). I said I would absolutely go find another job with the title I had and making the money I made because I am a driven person. I want my kids to know that you work hard for everything in life and nothing is given to you. Holding coffee for someone every day and being in a low position is not in my DNA. No matter how much money someone else was paying me in a severance, I wouldn’t take a lower job title and less money because I was getting a lot in severance.

I think most coaches would rather be coaching. So many have made more money than they'll ever need to support their lifestyle and their children's but they return year after year.
You're simply either a coach at heart or you're not.
He's not that far removed from actually coaching and we tend to keep his name relevant.

Work ethic has never been the issue with Butch if anyone familiarizes oneself with his background. Son of a cop who worked through his summer doing two jobs. Ball of energy (lot of times way too much) during his coaching career. No doubt whatever the hell he’s doing down in Tuscaloosa is full go. The sticking point is that IF he didn’t have the buyout dough, he’d be aggressively seeking a salary that would maintain his family’s lifestyle and security. He’s wallowing within the finite print wanting to be a part of a championship team before the gravy train comes to station.

I respectfully call BS because you are comparing a 3-6 months severance in your profession to a multi generational sum of money.

It's definitely more than 1%. My former company paid for a long term disability compensation that was impressive by any standards.
Almost everyone that had to resort to using it, would end up returning to work well before they had to, even when you could clearly see they should've taken longer.

I'm sure area has an influence, some regions still seem to push the pride and making your own way a little more, percentage wise. But still, it was surprising to see how many had that stance. Butch simply isn't one of them.

Edit: And obviously neither is Hank 😂

we are also talking millions of dollars here...don't know if the comparison is viable. You guys can talk about character all day long but if you were in his shoes you would be taking that check all day long.

I understand, but we both know he can't make the type of money that is owed to him currently. So why not re brand, learn and collect the money?

Kentucky had just 8 passes against Missouri...8 attempts for 63 yards. They did however run for 297 yards...
Kentucky had just 16 passes against Georgia, only 2 completions for 17 yards. Held to 160 yards on the ground...slug fest game, Georgia went for 235 on the ground and Fromm just had 12 attempts and 35 yards.
Kentucky had 12 attempts and 88 yards passing against Arkansas. Went for 330 yards on the ground! (Gave up 183 yards on the ground to Arkansas)

It's pretty obvious that to beat Kentucky you simply have to slow down their running game, since it's all they are doing. They also aren't a strong defense and give up a ton of yards, especially on the ground.

I mean Georgia is a great team running the ball...but that's a lot of yards to Arkansas who isn't a good team. In short this game for us to win will need to play out similar to the MSU game, only instead of stopping Hill it'll be Bowden we gotta stop. Then we simply need to be able to move the ball on them and not turn it over. They look like a good passing defense, but they aren't. Against Missouri & Georgia the weather really helped keep those games as ground battles.

Florida & Eastern Michigan both went for over 300 yards in the air. They turn it over a lot more than they take it away too, so can't beat ourselves. If we're stopping their run & moving the ball ourselves eventually something will break open if we don't give them the ball.

And you are entitled to that opinion my friend. I’m over talking about it. Let’s just agree that we hope our Vols win out and we get to go to a bowl game.

Who will KYs qb be this week? That is a huge determining factor.

Sorry I walked us into this OT debate, guys. The tripwire was there, and I should've seen it.
You’re not above a lil sanctimony also playa. The passive aggressive suggestion that anyone differing with your take on this topic is a lazy pos was prime posturing. 👍🏻

While no one can really say how much interest he’s gotten, I would venture to guess that Butch would jump at a multi year offer at a decent P5 school. That would allow him to make more money and rehabilitate his image if he can make it work. No one knows what kind of interest he has really gotten, and I can’t recall how old his youngest son is. That can make a difference as well.

If Harbaugh left and Michigan came calling today, he would almost certainly take it. But we all know he hasn’t gotten that interest, and that is why he is milking UT.

Butch is obtuse.

Who wants to hire someone that is milking his old employer while working for their arch enemy? Then he shows how petty he is by posing for cigar pics after a game. It's a bad look. I also imagine some folks that worked for him don't have nice things to say. Word gets around coaching circles if someone is a fraud .
