'20 TN DE Jay Hardy (Auburn commit)

He is. He is speculating like a lot of us, though his speculation has a lot more credence to me than most other people's speculation. I just can't believe that this staff would drop the ball like this, unless something suddenly changed.

Unless something suddenly changed hands...like a much larger number of Benjamins.🧳💸💰

I can see the staff not putting a lot of pressure on the Instate kids. They let the other commits do the recruiting. Maybe that is a mistake in the long run...

Really hard to believe that we didn’t make a high level instate recruit at a position of need that had gave us a silent commitment a top priority and took it for granted. No way no how I’m believing that. I’m calling shenanigans
It is hard to believe considering the emphasis Pruitt has put on recruiting. Not saying it couldn't happen, but from day one, Pruitt has hammered recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.

Wow, happens every single time. Have no idea what goes on at the cabin besides large amounts of money exchanging hands, but something else has to happen. Peace out, kid.
Our instate kids have absolutely zero pride to play for the instate school. And don’t feed me any trash about we suck. We have showed clear progress the last few weeks, and our defense is becoming very very good.
Maybe it's a great big ATM machine and also a cabin of ill repute-----great combination :cool::cool:

Please. You came in blasting the staff, certain they had screwed up, in no way being civil. Someone suggests the staff is to blame and you glom onto their rep to push your narrative. I believe it very possible the staff made a mistake, but that in no way explains the dishonesty from Hardy. People want the whole picture, not just a part, but you've obviously settled on the "blame the staff" part without addressing any of the rest of it. But you apparently understand the not taking responsibility for your own actions given how you're now acting like a wounded duck after coming in like a complete ass hole. That's why you got blasted. If you want respect, show respect. From the get go, not after you find someone else's coattails to ride.

We're all Vol fans here. I never blasted anyone. I do have questions about the reasons we are lacking in defensive line recruits and LB recruits. People shouldn't blast the kids that make other decisions regardless of when they made their decisions. I just don't know what happened for sure Weezer.

So much for all the talk about the great recruiters we have and insiders. You guys need to stop with the nonsense now. You got showed up. Always A MILLION EXCUSES why we didn't real them in.

Tennessee not very high on many kids list that are 4* and 5*. Better hope we can keep the Memphis boys.
They are probably really shocked about now.
You didn't come in blasting the staff, huh?

Straight up disappointing is all I know. We need our talented in-state kids. This happening is one reason we got into this mess and not going to help us get out. That's two highly rated DE's basically flipping on us.

Problems somewhere. I just don't know the depth of it and who or what is responsible. Two D lineman plus not getting other D lineman make me ask questions. These instate guys turning us down is not a good look.

Amidst all this speculation about WHY Hardy flipped are the facts of HOW he flipped. The relationships with Hardy are not nearly as strong as UT coaches and recruits thought they were. The loyalty and trust people thought were there were not. So that's something to think about.
I wonder how the relationship is with Tyler Baron and Omari Thomas

Long way to February, win out and this narrative of missing on recruits turns into hitting the bullseye with recruits- book it.

Some of y’all have been around long enough that this shouldn’t move the needle for you. It doesn’t for me.

I wish he had committed to the Vols, but I’m not worried about it. I’m done fretting over / getting excited about individual recruits.

One guy doesn’t make or break a program.

Sign a class ranked between 10-20, don’t have a bunch of busts / misses, develop them, build a healthy, mature roster...

Thats how you win games.
Hardy is not the key to the future of the program. He is one kid that may or may not develop into a quality player.

Weezer I have said it a couple times or more today. I have questions why we have not been able to recruit D lineman and LB's. Something isn't exactly right on that front. Its obvious to me. Then to have this happen. It hurts bad. We are all hurt right now. Well, except for one of my good friends. He won't let this bother him at all. He is mostly always riding in the Orange Clouds .

This commitment seems to be the reverse of BJ Ojulari.

He wanted to be anywhere but UT. Something fell through with LSU originally (connection with coaches, distance, feelings of being wanted), so he commits to UT.

Eventually, he flips to the place that he liked originally, LSU.

Maybe Hardy will end up doing the same, but this time it works out for the good guys.

Every recruit that interviews talks about how TN rolls out the academic red carpet, so I am not buying the "football only" slant - plus, it's not like AU has a world-renowned Engineering program. It is OK, but they are best known for Construction Science and their Ag/Vet programs.

Why lie to everyone, including other players that were your potential teammates - and as recently as Monday night? That part does not hold water.

Because it’s about the money and kids and their families can’t say that.
