JT throws into coverage on ONE throw that he has attempted and you pull him to put in the guy who continues to make poor reads and poor throws. None of it makes sense to me, but thats my opinion from the couch.

It wasn't just that he made one bad throw, he made one inexcusably bad throw off balance against his body in the red area after a big play by the defense. That ball gets picked against better competition. So he goes with JG until JG throws an inexcusably bad ball in the red area. Then JT gets another shot and again throws a horrible ball that should've been picked (while ignoring a wide open JJ underneath). JT got two series and went 1-4 with 2 balls that should've been picked and his lone completion was 4 yards short of the marker on third down.

When JG comes back in, he goes 4/5 for 60 something yards and a TD and effectively ices the game. On JT's two series not counting the garbage time at the end, they gained 31 yards on 10 plays (3.0 per play). With Jg it was about 260 yards on 50 plays (5.2ish).

I've been as critical of JG as anyone, but the handling of the Qbs on Saturday was fine. And it's not all about throwing as he said in the presser. Needs a guy who can make the right audibles in the run game as well. JT not there yet.

As far as Maurer, I think Coach definitely held him out and knew his defense would be enough to win with an average JG game and it was. His best case plan probably had JT coming out and lighting it up early on the way to a route, but didn't look like that was going to happen so he rolled with his defense. This isnt the same team from early Sept. It's been an elite defense for 2 months now and he knows it. I do expect it to be Maurer the rest of the way, barring injury.

I guess I might as well give my opinion on Pruitt's handling of the 3 QBs for the UAB game since everyone else has:

CJB stated in Today's PC that they thought JTS played well against USCjr and thought he deserved the start against UAB. IMO they had a plan to insert JG in the 1st half but not sure how soon. After JTS pass across his body in the red zone in the 1st series, the coaches decided to insert JG on the 2nd series.

IMO Maurer was actually not going to play against UAB unless it was close or we got behind. CJP knows Maurer is fragile and he wanted to make sure he was available for KY, MO and Vandy. So after we led UAB 23-0 at the half, there was no reason to play Maurer against UAB.

If he’s cleared he would have played if Pruitt thinks he was our best option. I mean we were only 12 pts favorited and everyone
Says this staff learned its lesson from taking Ga State for granted. Not buying it at all
That we saved him for better days

Now it won’t surprised me if he starts in Lexington but I bet JG plays 75% of snaps

Cool man, do you. You're stance is what it is, I'm not trying to change it cause it doesn't matter the UAB game is in the books. Maurer starts Kentucky and doesn't see the bench unless he's hurt, that's what I predict.

Especially since UAB didn't even move the ball past the 50 until the 2nd half.

To even think playing a player because it was homecoming is even possible is just plain dumb. Plain and simple
I do not think he did that and our coach will play players that give us the best chance to win. I said it would be cool if he did play JG more because it was likely his last homecoming like another player posted as the game was never in jeopardy. It is like arguing with my damn two year old with you.

I hope we find out. I think he starts as well and JG comes in quickly

And let’s hope there isn’t a dang injury

I’m betting ole Jeremy didn’t even know it was homecoming and if he didn’t he didn’t give a **** about it

Leach at Florida State would be a perfect test case for his style of play.

That fanbase is about as crazy as us so he’d have a super short leash. I’d love to see if he could recruit well enough to stay relevant.

His system would be great with those athletes but I don’t think his personality would fit there at all. He tends to wear out his welcome after awhile. I don’t see south Florida kids clicking with his personality.

If I’m FSU, My list includes Norvell, Franklin, Babers, Kiffin, Campbell, Cristobal, Bob Stoops, Mark Stoops, and Urban.

Urban/bob stoops/Franklin are no brainers for that job but long shots with Bob being most likely of the 3 imo.

I’d go Kiffin or Babers two dudes that would bring that FSU swagger back. Offense would be near unstoppable. Babers would make a ton of sense with familiarity with league and you can keep Briles/Clements on staff for easy transition to your offense.

I think leach is a loon, but FSU has had an uncanny ability to pull speedy and tall dudes up to tally. I would love to see that offense with the talent that they generally have (if it hasn’t already all gone to Clemson)

Listening to 247 podcast, can anyone explain what the hilarity behind Cucker's 'hashtag' (strange noise)? not sure wth that is but its annoying as all hell.
